Played in the GK event on 06/16 with Alan, Rob and John T. The course is a little out of the way, between Las Vegas and Mesquite but well worth the drive. The course is in very good shape for summertime conditions.
Tee Boxes were very nice, fairways are lush and the greens are in very good shape. They did putt a little slow. I was in quite a bit of sand and I thought the traps were good shape.
It is one of my favorite tracks out in the Vegas area because of the green complexes. You can have some very interesting breaking putts. POP was almost 5 hrs. due to wind picking up which can make the course play a little harder. Plenty of water to drink throughout the course and thanks for the snack lunch. Return trip to Coyote Springs yesterday for the GK Plays. It was great to see some familiar and new faces make the trek to the middle of nowhere. After having played it a few months ago in January I could definitely notice some slight changes in the course between then and now.

Greens now are slightly bumpier and slower than they were in January with some more noticeable areas of heat distress that I would guess would be from the 115 degree temps that came through recently. But with that said they were still better than the majority of courses that you'll find at this time of year in the desert and while slower than previously, that does NOT mean slow! Downhill putts and chips were still a challenge to the max and some pins today were in interesting locations.

Fairways are playing firmer and faster and balls would roll out quite a bit. But they were pretty lush and always had a nice lie and padding underneath to hit from.

Bunkers...thank god I wasn't in all of them like that last time! The couple that I did visit were nice with newer sand. No problems there.

Rough is not quite fully transitioned from Rye to Bermuda yet so it was manageable and a nice consistent length throughout.

Tees were lush and some holes could use a mow as they were a little shaggy but understandable as it heats up.

POP was a little under 5 hours and that's probably because of the brutal wind gusts that rolled in around the time we started the back nine. Couple felt like they got up to the 40mph range. Watching balls hit the invisible wall on #17 was fun in a masochistic way. Service was great at all levels and they brought out box lunches with Gatorade to us on #10 which was super nice of the course! I really love this course and just wish it was closer to civilization. If you're planning to go for the first time make sure you have a full tank of gas and/or stock up and refill on gas/food/supplies at the Love's travel stop at the 15 & 93 junction if you're coming from Vegas. That's all you'll see until you reach the course. Thanks John for once again outdoing yourself and thanks to Coyote Springs for hosting us. Can't wait to be back!

Joined rgm2525, kevbig and mpisarski01 for GK Guru round at Coyote Springs Golf Club on 1/18, impressive. I’ll go as far as saying it was one of the best, and most difficult layouts I’ve ever played. Its a Jack Nicklaus design. I understand it is normally pristine June – November and we did not catch the course at its best, but even at that, it was still in great shape.

This course is in the middle of nowhere. It’s a 60 minute drive out of Las Vegas in the high desert and the only breath of humanity is actually the golf course once you arrive. But once there you get a secluded away from it all feeling and what a course to be treated with. I like it so much I’m looking into a GK Plays there for June. Got to treat GK’ers to this course and I need to play it at its best.

We played the blue tees, 72.8/144, bunkers everywhere and none easy to escape from. Very difficult undulating greens, rolling fairways loaded with small mounds to the point you hardly ever get a downhill lie, amazing sight lines and not a single let down hole.

As far as conditions, they do not overseed yet the fairways and greens were in great shape. The rough was dormant and thin in spots. The bunkers were in decent shape but thin in most. The tee boxes green and in very good shape. Green were rolling mostly smooth, moderately fast and firm.

As far the facilities, one of the best driving ranges/practice areas I’ve ever seen. Huge beautiful grass range with multiple short game areas. In addition nice large practicing putting green by the starter that simulates the golf course very well. The clubhouse are deluxe trailers with a food/beverage. It is my understanding they will finally breaking ground on the new clubhouse later this year.

I use to always hear when coming to Vegas I need to play Coyote Springs given how much I like all the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort golf courses. Now that I have I will say Coyote Springs Golf Club is better than every one of them hands down…and I like those Paiute courses a ton.

Highly Recommend Coyote Springs Golf Club. Worth the drive!

Played 1-18-18 with John,Matt and Kevin getting around the course in about 4 hours. Tee boxes were in great shape with good coverage, level, and mown tight. Fairways were in great shape with good lies, nice roll out and they a fairly wide. There is a lot of mounding in these fairways so you can have some uneven lies but nothing to severe. Rough was semi dormant, not to long and easy to hit from. Was in three greenside bunkers, one on the front which was a little thin and two on the back which had recently been worked on and had a lot of new very soft sand. Greens had a lot of slope to them and were rolling medium pace and pretty smooth with an occasional bump. Service was very good and friendly. This course is a little out of the way but definitely worth the drive.

Out with the Gurus on the 18th to enjoy Coyote Springs. This course is about and hour outside of Vegas in the middle of nowhere, Originally planned to be a full on golf community with 5-7 course's and a bunch of homes. Unfortunately they started building right during the recession and only the Jack Nicklaus course was built.

This Course is one of the craziest designs I have ever played. Riding the cart down the fairways feels like you are on a roller coaster with all of the mounds it is quite fun. The greens are a good mix of large undulating and smaller postage stamp sized greens.

Conditions were good to very good for this mid January day The course rough was dormant which gives you that wonderful desert look. Most everything was in great shape full coverage of grass for the entire course with the greens running medium slow and held shots wonderfully.

The only downside of the day was the sand. Starting on the practice facility the liner was starting to come up and made it tough to cleanly strike bunker shots. The Course was mostly that way until the back nine where the crew was working on the bunkers. This issue should be fixed some time in the next few weeks and the course will be Amazing.

Overall the staff was amazing an the course is amazing and I cant wait to go back.

Day 1 of a back-to-back GK Guru outing had Johnny, Matt, Ron, & myself at Coyote Springs. There's something about these middle of nowhere courses (Rams Hill, Paiute, etc) that are truly hidden gems. They warned us that the course was not in its prime shape but I'd have to respectfully disagree. If this isn't their best, then I can't wait to see that!

Tees- Perfectly flat with minimal damage and full coverage
Fairways- Insane! Condition-wise there's not much to complain about. Lush, pretty firm, provide good roll on drives, and good cushion underneath. BUT...the mounding. OH MY the mounding! I've never seen fairways with so many mounds, swales, hills, etc. I think Ron and I got seasick driving on these things! In typical Jack fashion, the fairways are pretty generous.
Rough- Semi-dormant and pretty easy to hit out of. Again, full coverage and no issues. Their color contrasted nicely with the deep green fairways.
Greens- Huge green complexes that were mostly smooth and held most shots nicely. They looked faster than they played. Medium speed at best but I suppose that's ok considering the crazy undulations that most of them have! Jack Nicklaus at his evil best.
Bunkers- I can give a definitive review on these since I found almost every one of them on the course today. They all had soft sand and some had too much sand leading to some semi-plugged and plugged lies in our group today. There are so many bunkers on each hole that you'd better have your sand game on point before coming here. A couple on the back 9 were being worked on and were GUR while they add new sand to them.

Overall the layout of this course is truly incredible. Course knowledge is a must here! With so many humps and bumps in the fairways, it was really hard to get an idea of how far it was to certain hazards. To be honest I don't know if the sprinklers had yardages on them since we all had our own GPS devices. No GPS on the carts but yardage books are available in the clubhouse. Speaking of carts, gas powered ones here and it's needed as the amount of land this course encompasses is gigantic. No way an electric cart would make it through a round. There are some seriously long drives from the clubhouse to the range to the first tee and back. The course does not return to the clubhouse at the turn. Cart girl was out and about and we must've seen her around 6-7 times today. Service was great on all levels. Yes the location is remote but it's an easy drive at just an hour north of Vegas. Do yourself a favor and add it to your must play list in the area! Can't wait to go back again soon. Thanks Johnny!

I have been to Coyote Springs 4 other times and it has never disappointed, and today was no exception. Overall conditions were bordering on excellent. Tee boxes were lush and level. Rough was about 1-2 inches in most places. Bunkers were pretty good, with no rocks. If you were the first one in, it appeared to be packed, but once racked, they were slightly heavy but nice to hit out. Fairways showed the signs of the brutal 2 week heat wave, with some brown areas, but they played fine, kind of like dormant Bermuda. Greens were excellent. Medium-fast and smooth, receptive, and not firm.

This is my favorite non-high dollar (Wolf Creek, Cascata, etc) course. Very tough (white tees: 6215/70.2/139) but fair. Wide fairways, Nicklaus signature green complexes (bunkers, multi-tier greens), and some hard par 3s. While it is tough, it's also fun. No 2 holes are the same and plenty of opportunities to make a memorable shot.

Definitely a must play if in the Vegas/Mesquite area, and may as well take advantage of the free replay. Good customer service, beverage cart around every 3 holes, free water placed in 2 spots that you pass twice.

My Experience at Coyote Springs was great. From the moment we arrived the staff was friendly and helpful. The course is set in the desert with lush fairways and greens. The tee boxes were large and for the most part level. I enjoyed the layout that rewarded you for staying in the fairways. I can say the sand traps are in good shape with soft consistent sand as I spent a lot of time in them. The greens were almost perfect!. We were off early and there were no ball marks at all. The speed of the greens were fast but fair. I would recommend this coarse to anyone spending some time in Las Vegas! Especially if you want to play away from the crowds.

Played on Friday, 11/11, with 7 other GK'ers through a posted "Meet-Play." We paid $75 through a special offer for OB Sports cardholders. This is my 4th trip out to the middle of nowhere and it has never disappointed.

Conditions were great. Tee boxes level with few divots and large areas to move the boxes around. Fairways were lush, carpet like, with very few divots and no thin areas. Rough was thick and about 2 inches. Bunkers were all filled with heavy beach like sand, including the fairway bunkers. Greens were smooth and fast. They did show some damage in the late afternoon, causing the ball to bounce around.

Facilities are nice. Small pro shop but a recently opened grill area. Incredible driving range and a large putting green with huge undulations. I finally noticed the practice bunker area that's part of the driving range area. Staff was extremely friendly.

They offer free replays, but this time of the year is tough to finish the 2nd round. You need to wait until the 1st wave is off the tee, then fall in behind. We started at 12:30 and told carts are in at 4:30. We played to 10, then hit a wall, so we cut across and played most of the front 9 again, getting in 34 holes.
