Rode the Blues (6328/69.6/117) with itslikeimsayin for a GK Cup match early morning. POP right at 4H playing behind the other GK 4some. Comfortable early, but breezy and over 100 when we were finishing. Very nice June conditions considering the amount of 100+ days already. Tees lush with most divots already properly maintained. Fairways mostly lush with few unfixed divots. Rough lush, maintained low and not very penal. Many sandy waste areas come into play if you get wide of the normal grass rough. Could be able to play off hardpan or have your ball swallowed up by a native plant. Sand traps were decently maintained but too many rocks in them to be considered good. Greens were smooth/firm and putted medium fast speed. No huge slopes or tiers on these greens, but there is rarely a straight putt anywhere. Cart gal around several times. Food/drink also available in the clubhouse. Excellent customer service from all encountered. Carts have GPS to the front/middle & back of the green along with hole tips. Friendly starter, no Marshall most days. Noticed and appreciated when the mow staff several times stops and waits while players play close by. All grass range open, nice practice area. Fun course in excellent shape. Recommended.

Played Cimarron Boulder Saturday 4/10 with a 9:36 slot. Uncle Jimmy and I saw the wind farms a turnin' as we had a tailwind coming down Whitewater pass into Palm Spings. Fortuneatly, the winds were pretty much calm by the time you pull in to town. The bag drop, pro shop and the starter, were all professional and courteous. We gave ourselves plenty of time to warm up on the practice green and the all grass range. We were paired up with two gentlemen from the great state of Oregon, Paul and Harry.
The previous review was right, the overall condition of the course was green and lush, except for the greens. The greens were in good shape, but on the drier side. They were firm underfoot and to approach shots. Approach shots from beyond 150yds would have a pretty good skipping bounce and would need more green real estate to still end up on the dance floor. They were cut pretty tight and putting at medium speed. The areas around the greens were great for the short game. The bunkers were all found with nice clean and fully teased sand. The first and only cut of rough, was about an inch in depth and perfect for lies to hit from. The tees were fine.
This style layout, does not have a higher slope rating, but it's not a pushover either. Like the last reviewer suspected, it does get tougher with the winds. By the the 4th hole the breeze came up and felt good, by the 8th hole we had 1-2 club sidewinds, and almost 2-3 club headwinds. We endured and adapted, and still had a good time with good scores to show for it.
The drink cart came around twice. There were sandbottles on the carts, and there were rakes with the bunkers. POP was 4:40. Good customer service.

Played the course on Wed. April 7 towards the noon hour as a practice round for a junior golfer. The first thing you notice is the greenness of the course. The fairways and rough were immaculate. Around the green, it was a practically a joy to chip, the grass was so perfectly cut. If I could chip on that grass all the time, I wouldn't mind missing greens. I had 9 one putts. Greens were also in nice shape except they were slow. I've been told that it is tough to have desert greens that fast but it was really slow. I'm going to blame my 3 three putts on the the slow greens that affected my speed control, haha. The course itself is quite forgiving. Also, the local rules say the wash is a free drop, which I took advantage of a couple of times. Compared to courses like Industry Hills or the nicer private courses I usually play, this course is definitely easy. Nonetheless, the day was enjoyable. After driving for 2 hours, I was pretty stiff and not hitting that well, but being on a forgiving course stakes the sting out. And, the absolutely immaculate conditions (other than the slow greens) of the course made it fun. I've met someone who says the course can be challenging if it is windy. I can believe it. There is not protection from the wind. If I knew the greens ran closer to 10, I would definitely be back.

Rode the blacks this morning and afternoon for 36 wonderful holes with my buddy Nick joined in the morning round by Ian and James and then just as a twosome on the replay round. Both rounds were about 3 hrs 45 minutes POP. Weather was perfect for scoring with little to no winds and warming up to the mid 80s by the end of our second round.

I had not played here in about 10 years or so and was pleasantly surprised with the conditions.

The Bermuda greens were in very good shape rolling medium speed and holding irons and chips nicely. You really could not make a big ballmark on the greens yet they held beautifully. The greens have some swale and undulations to them but for the most part many straight putts out here. Rating 8.5/10.

Fairways were in great shape. Lush and green and great lies. Rated 8.5/10.

Was in 2 greenside bunkers and 1 fairway bunker for the day and the sand was in good shape and nicely raked and maintained. It was nice to see rakes on a golf course. Rated 7.5/10.

Rough was really healthy and lush and in great shape. Rated 8.5/10.

Tees were lush and only encountered a couple that were not completely level. Rated 8/10.

The defense of this course are the strategic fairway bunkers and the wash running through the middle of the course. For sure some birdie holes but a couple strong par 4s as well.

Highly recommended. Course is in great shape.

Rode the Blues (6328/69.6/117) with GDR23, Ian and James. 3H, 45M POP early morning in warm, calm, sunny conditions in the 80's. Then rode the Blacks (6747/72.0/124) in the afternoon with Gary. Again, around 3H, 45M. Seemed longer playing as a 2some behind a Sr. 4some. By far the best I have ever seen Cimarron look and play! Tees lush with most divots already properly maintained. Fairways lush with few unfixed divots. Rough lush, maintained and not very penal. However, if you miss the grass rough the native areas are 50/50 on whether you can play your ball even if you find it. Sand traps were decently maintained but too many rocks in them to be considered good. Greens were fairly smooth/firm and putted medium speed. No huge slopes or tiers on these greens, but there is rarely a straight putt anywhere. No on course services. Excellent customer service from all encountered. Carts have GPS to the front/middle & back of the green along with hole tips. No Starter, Marshall or Drink cart most days. Restaurant onsite was open, as was the all grass range open. Fun course in excellent shape. Recommended.

Fairways were in good shape, mostly solid coverage with a few thin areas. Rough was about 2 inches and lush and fairly easy to hit from. Was in one fairway bunker that had nice sand but a lot of small rocks. Greens were playing very nice, semi-firm, medium/fast, and rolling true. Fairly easy course in good condition. Recommended

1/31 guru outing pleasant day good grouping and an overall enjoyable round even with my erratic play. Course is relatively flat with a few somewhat elevated greens lots of waste areas and bunkers that are4 well placed to provide some extra challenge if the pin is tucked behind. Myself I did not find any of those bunkers but they looked to have good sand==no rakes here however. Fairways provided mixed conditions with some areas quite thin and others having good cover--looked like the overseed did not consistently fill in. Rough was minimal. Tees ok. Greens were adequate with a little grain and some subtle slope that made for a lot of almost made putts. POP was right at 4 with more waiting on the last 9 for some reason. Nice driving range but for some reason the stations were move to the front edge leaving a down hill lie. Big putting green that was a little quicker than on course conditions. Friendly and welcoming staff. comfortable cart with basic GPS. the rating came out on the low side more accurately 7.1/7.2

First time playing Cimarron Resort Boulder Course and I really enjoyed it. Over the years I’ve read good reviews and toured the repaired damaged holes from the 2019 Valentine’s Day flood but had never experienced it. It’s a fun design with some great views of the surrounding mountains. It’s not a difficult golf course at least from the Blue tees for my 10 handicap and I found that refreshing. Nice size greens with no extreme undulations. Flat terrain with lots of level lies. However lots of challenging bunkers and demanding off the tee as far as accuracy. I had a big number on hole #6 because I pulled my second shot into the dry river bed. Get off line out there and you can quickly find the desert floor. Check out the photos I posted.

Conditions were great. Greens were overseeded rye grass smooth, firm and about 9 speed. Fairways had good coverage, little thin in some spots but mostly lush providing good lies all day. Rough cut low, lush with good lies. Bunkers had quality sand, some of the fairways bunkers had some small rocks but nothing extreme. Tee boxes cut tight, similar to the fairways, the blue tees we played appear to be the most popular so they had more divot damage on the par 3’s than the other tees. Still very nice to play from.

It was a pretty full day out there on Sunday and I totally see why. This golf course is great value with lots of deals out there. It’s also has a great pace of play. We teed off around 12:00 and finished in just over 4 hours with a full tee sheet.

Very friendly customer service in the proshop, starter and on the course.

Super day with GK Gurus and GK Cup Players.

Looking forward to playing the Boulder Course again and trying the Pebble Course.

Played with the rest of the Gurus on Sunday. Our group was lucky enough to use this round for a 3rd and final team match. Pace of play was around 4 hours, maybe a hair more. Pleasant surprise the pace moved this fast given the full parking lot when I arrived.
I had played here once before, many, many years ago. The two things I remember from back then - the canal that runs through the course and how crazy the wind can get. The canal is still there, but, fortunately, we didn't get much wind to speak of. Course is in great condition, green all around. Fairways were great, a little soft but excellent to hit from. Rough was green, short in most places although there were some spots that were pretty thick. Greens were firm, held most shots, and were on the slow/medium side.
Nice all grass range. Good size practice putting green. Excellent service from cart attendant, starters, and pro shop staff. Well run and keeping everything on time.
I really enjoyed this course - a little more forgiving that other courses I've played recently, which was great given the state of my current game. Playing with a group of GKers made it even better - always enjoy meeting new GK golfers. Even though we were playing a match - our group was laid back, gave each other the needle often (in a fun way), and overall had a great day. Highly recommend playing here.
