Played the Golds (6643/71.5/126) in 2H, 45M playing as a single. POP was excellent after I played through a 4some that I waited on for a couple of holes. Received a replay voucher good for within a week, so came back to the course again on Friday. I liked the course better the 2nd time through and felt like I played better, even though I shot the same exact score? Plenty of water stations, which were needed @ 107 degrees. The customer service was excellent. Fairly tight layout, alot of OB can come into play quickly on any errant shots along with some water to keep you honest. Good facilities, a conventional, old school Palm Springs layout, the exterior of the course is surrounded by homes &/or streets on all sides. The tees were good overall, only a few of the par 3's needed maintenance. Both the fairways and rough were semi lush, occasionally thin. One of the marshal's told me that they were keeping the rough lower because of so many complaints last year when they let it get high. Even at 2" to 3", the rough was plenty punitive, the ball would settle down and was often hard to find even a few feet off the fairway. The traps were above average with good sand. The greens were somewhat bumpy and medium slow, not atypical for middle of the summer Bermuda. Not alot of break here, I saw the lines well and putted decent for the 2nd straight round. They were aerated 2+ weeks ago and are almost completely healed, they putt better than they look. Not a high end course by Palm Springs standards, but better than average. I would not play here often, too many better options available closeby. However, I enjoyed the course and would never hesitate to play here again, especially for less than $1 a hole.
