Played yesterday on a rather odd day. Started off cool and then warmed up quite a bit and cooled off later in the round with the wind picking up. Had some sprinkles driving up and seemed to be threatening around the area but never a drop.

I would say from tee up to the green the course is in great shape. Fairways were great. They were mowed to a perfect level for me. I thought they provided good roll on drives. Divot damage and bare patches here and there but I don't think anyone in our group had a bad lie all day. One of the things I like about Goose is that there are holes where you can hit multiple shots off the tee. I think that helps to minimize the divot damage to the fairways because balls are not collecting in the same area.

Rough isn't overly penalizing and while I did miss the fairway my penalties came from being behind trees not necessarily the lie in the rough. Given the vast size of the course there are going to be more bare areas in the rough.

Tee boxes were really nice. Level and appropriately cut. Played the back tee boxes and even on the par 3s I don't remember too much divot damage. Plenty of areas to tee the ball up.

Since I've been coming here the greens are probably in the worst shape I've seen. They were way too bumpy and wobbly for my liking. I did notice what I think is a fungus on the greens. I assume it is a fungus but it looks like yellow water stains on them. I'm not sure if these issues are related or not.

As I said earlier everything but the greens is really nice right now and too bad they are punching next week. However I would hold off on playing until after maintenance because of the greens. I am one that can overlook imperfections in the fairways/rough but rather have nice greens to putt on. I don't believe the Goose is there right now but I will definitely be back. This is a solid course with a great staff.

I played here on Mon. the 8th so Im a little late with this.
Had a 7:40 tee time and we got out about 10 minutes late I believe due to some fog hanging around the course. We waited on a few holes on a foursome ahead of us who seemed to be confused on some of the holes but we still finished in 4:10.
Tee boxes are in good shape except for 17 which is so hard you almost need a hammer to get a tee in the ground.
Fairways are in great shape with good coverage and a nice cushion to hit from. Most of the bunkers are ok but could use more sand in some.
The rough is cut down and not too penal.
The greens were firm and running at a medium/fast speed. Some were a little bumpy.
Checkin was quick but I do have one complaint. You can not book as a single player over the phone and you must book online. They do not give you the option to get the senior rate this way. I would like to see this change.
Overall a great day at Goose and I will be back soon.

Played 1/31, tee off @ 10:20 and finished at 2:35, so very solid POP. First time playing here and conditions were good but a little damp from the recent storm. Most important thing to highlight: greens are HARD. Very firm, cut thin, and huge drop offs. Trying to spin your pitches and stop was a wasted effort as they roll past the flag. Also plan on approach shots rolling up as opposed to checking up. Best to bump and run or land in front and roll to the flag here. Otherwise, a really nice layout where shorter holes reward accuracy and longer provide room to work. Definitely would like to play again.

I love me some Goose Creek. Probably my favorite course in the area. Amazing conditions, but I was not happy with their pro-shop/customer service today. I found out when checking in, that I had "pre-paid" for my entire group! Yes, every modern course has an online booking system, and they often put a credit card hold on your card, but don't charge it until your group shows up. At that time, individuals have the option to pay. Today, I was told I "pre-paid" for the entire group and if I wanted to pay separately, I would have had to have called them to book the tee time! Complete BS. I was told "because of Covid". Not cool and the guys in the shop were not helpful. If you are the one trying to get a tee time for your buddies, best call the course, otherwise you will be collecting fees from all your friends, instead of them paying the course.

Out to Goose Creek yesterday at 11:00 am. Considering it is a dry winter, the course is in great shape. The highlights were the greens. Smooth and running around 10/11. Fairways had great coverage and rough was not too penal. Sand traps had semi-firm sand. White tee boxes were level and in good shape. Some flags were in some tucked positions. POP was 4.15 minutes with a packed tee sheet obviously. We realized the more we play here the settle bumps and undulations of the greens. Snack shop was open (please tip generously) and cart girl was making rounds. Customer service was fine. Starter was pretty useless and not up to par with rest of staff. I let Goose Creek know in their post round survey. Also want to mention again the great practice facility here. Looking forward to returning!

My last round of 2020 was at Goose Creek so why not start 2021 at Goose. Wear masks in inside and I was able to ride solo in the cart. Teed off at 7:10 and finished in 3:25 as a threesome behind a foursome. The greens rolled good with medium/fast speed. short iron shots held while mid to long shots released a little. The fairways were in very good condition with a couple of thin/bare spots. The rough was good and long enough to affect the shot but not too penal. The bunkers are a bit more compacted than 3 weeks ago but still playable. The tee boxes are good. Always enjoy playing Goose. The practice facilities are great and the staff is friendly.

Teed off this morning just after 9am and finished in 3:50. As the many recent reviews point out the course is in very good condition. The greens rolled mostly smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways were mown tight with very good coverage. The rough was was mostly very good with a few thin patchy spots. The bunkers had sand but were a bit compacted. The one greenside bunker I was in was playable. The tee boxes were good.

Face masks required in and around club house. I was able to get a single rider cart.

Goose is simply a quality course with quality practice facilities. The staff is always friendly.

After all the recent reviews, I feel a bit silly posting this review. Conditions are always very good at the Goose, which is what I've come to expect here. One of the better and more enjoyable courses to play. Greens gave me problems today, but that was on me, not the course. It is simply just a fun track. Not too penal, but affords enough challenge to keep your interest.

I was a bit disappointed in the bunkers, but that seems to be common place now days. Otherwise not much to criticize here. Always have a great time playing here. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Played on Thursday the 10th with the "gurus" and had a blast. Thanks Johnny, Mike and Steve for a great day. Not much to add that hasn't already been said. The bunkers may have been in the worst shape that I have seen here, but this is out of the norm for Goose Creek. I'm sure that the Goose won't let that be like that for long. I have played here many times and my expectations are always met. You know that conditions are going to be great and the pace of play will be good. The par 3's here are fun and challenging and #16 is just a beast. You never feel like you are playing the same hole twice as every hole has a personality of it's own. Customer service was great and everybody was very pleasant. Can't wait until the next time I play here. This course is one of my favorites.
