I can concur with the other reviews that the Goose is in great shape for the middle of Dec. Tee boxes,fairways , rough all in great shape. Never had a bad lie and no problem finding a good spot to tee off. I was not in a bunker but they did look to be a little compacted and damp. I play here a couple of times a month and always enjoy the round because the staff are friendly and the conditions are some of the best around. The pace of play is never much more than 4 hours.

Out with GK Gurus at Goose Creek Golf Club yesterday. Always fun to play with GKers. It’s been over a year since playing the Goose and I was glad to be back. Such a consistently well maintained golf course year around. I always make sure to get to the Goose well before my tee time to take advantage of the excellent practice facilities. This place is pure golf.

Yesterday was a picture perfect December day. High 60’s, sunny, with only a light breeze. I still have not after all these years solved my challenges with the greens and green complexes. I see why the golf course is often referred to as a layout that yields easy bogeys but tough pars. You really need command of the flat stick and especially touch around the greens if you are not getting on them in regulation. So many false fronts and areas of the greens you simply want to avoid. Then of course there is hole 18 which can transform any good round into train wreck – lol – I managed to bogey it yesterday and did not complain. Check out the photos I just posted.

Conditions are great at Goose Creek right now especially for December. The golf course did some overseeding in October and its help to keep it mostly green despite the cool weather forcing all the warm weather turf into dormancy. The greens are in great shape, mostly smooth with only a little bumpiness. I thought the front nine greens ran faster than the back nine. They hold your full irons shots well but get ready for pitch shots to release. Fairways in great shape with a few dormant thin spots here and there but overall excellent lies all day. Rough, not much to speak of in terms of length, a little longer than the fairways, mostly lush. Bunkers, just OK. Good sand quality but more firm and thin than I remember from past visits. Tee boxes in great shape, level and lush. On the golf carts they have premium mix with rye seed. I used up both the bottles fixing my fairway divots and others.

This is the time of year where golf courses in the Inland Empire really start feeling the effects of cold winter nights forcing turf to go dormant, become blonde, thin and firm. Not at Goose Creek. They spent extra time and money to do some overseeding and its paid off.

Excellent service all day long from the moment I arrived in the clubhouse, to seeing the on-course food/beverage service 4 times to leaving.

12/10 guru outing with Steve, Chuck and Nick a really great and fun group making for an enjoyable round with 4.00 POP. Overall conditions are very solid, fairways have good cover mostly firm but still with good cushion and soft enough to leave some major divots many that had gone unfilled. Course provides a really good divot mix and there really is no excuse for the negligence especially since they work so hard to provide quality conditions. Maybe there should be a deposit on the bottle that is returned to the player if it is brought back empty. Rough presents a variety of thickness and length which did not seem too penal but required extra attention around the greens and was really a challenge if you strayed into the out lying area. Tees level with good cover. Found 1 fairway bunker groomed and firm and 1 green side groomed damp and firm requiring a square face to minimize bounce--got ouit fine and made a nice 8 footer so for this time I consider the sand playable. Greens were receptive for high approach shots, mostly quick with some unforseen breaks rolling fairly smoothly overall. Course uses 4 zones and today most pins were comfortably placed with a couple of exceptions. Typically good customer service with friendly welcoming staff. Grass driving range, large putting green, basic but comfortable cart, no GPS but a previously mentioned sand bottles with quality divot mix. Marshal on patrol and drink cart came by x4. I think I secured the birie chain--virtual today--with a chip in on 17.

Played here 12/10 at 10am with great GK members. We had sunny skies, no wind, in shorts and short sleeves temps. It gets better, the parking lot was only 2/3 full, so the range, putting and chipping greens, were easily accessed. Looked like the full compliment of workers were all on duty today, and looking after both golfers and the course, I appreciate that. The starter made sure we were following their group spacing, and understood today's pins were set at #4 plan(I should have processed this info better). I've played here before, but always from the III tees(whites). The Goose has been getting good fall reviews, the driver is in the bag for a change, and I'm feeling froggy today, so I decide to play the IV tees(blues) with Nick.
Tee boxes were in great shape, even the par 3 tees. By the way, there are 5 par 3's here, so come get your fix if that is your bag. But, look at that day's pin plan, and par 3 yardages, and really ponder before choosing the tees you play from. Only the par 3 2nd, played less than 170 from the blues, and that was because the pin was at the front. ;-) The par 3 16th was playing 223 from tee to pin. No GIR par 3's for me today.
Fairways were great to play from and in good fall health.
Rough was lush, and cut to useful depths for all occasions.
Traps were good, groomed, sand and no pebbles. I had no problem sweeping out of a fairway trap, and flubbed out of a nice greenside bunker(my bad). A few others were damp.
Areas around greens were good and playable, all favorable to pitches and chips. Believe me, I was pitching and chipping a lot today; luckily my wedge play was pretty reliable.
The greens were good and I saw them hold just about anything. My putting game was off, but the greens were on. They rolled fast and seemed to be cut tight. I should have practiced more on both putting greens to take better advantage of these conditions.
Saw drink cart twice on each nine. Course bathrooms open, foam in cups, no rakes, divot mix on carts, spacing was comfortable and POP was just about 4 hours. Had a good time. I'm fairly local to Goose Creek, and I proudly recommend it for this area. Cheers,

Played 12-10-2020. This course is a favorite of mine. Love the layout and conditions are always good. There were a few brown spots in the fairways but overall conditions were great. Greens showed signs of healing from punching but rolled fast and true. Tee boxes were perfect as always. I was only in 2 traps . The first was a fairway bunker and was smooth a nice. Soft on top but firm below. The second was on the par 3 9th. It was wet and almost mud. I guess they can't be completely perfect! Could play this course every week and not get tired of it!

Rode the Blues (6560/71.2/126) in slightly more than than 4H in sunny, fairly calm conditions in the 60's. Played with Gary, Steve and Chuck who are all easy to play with and kept things loose. We all had separate carts, COVID masks required only around course employees and in common areas. Course overall is in very nice shape for December. My overall rating will probably be lower than most because of playing numerous rounds on totally over seeded courses recently. Tees were mowed nicely with good coverage. Fairways were semi lush, good coverage, very playable. Rough also had good coverage and could be penal even though not overly high. Just long enough to make longer clubs challenging. Traps were mediocre. Okay quality sand but looked like they could use a good raking/churning. Large greens were smooth, firm and putted medium fast. Chipping and stopping irons without rollout was a challenge. Minor bare spots around many edges that did not really affect play. Excellent practice facility. All grass driving range with adjacent chipping and putting practice areas. Drink cart around at least 4 times today. No GPS on the basic carts. The customer service was excellent from all encountered. Curley/Schmidt design that is an enjoyable and fun course to play. Tough enough w/o being overly punitive. Highly recommended.

Ventured out to Goose yesterday and teed off at 1220 (10 mins early) as they were ahead of their tee sheet. POP was 4.5 waiting on a few tee boxes. Staff excellent as always, masking in the clubhouse only and both the chipping green and putting green were open. The course is in fantastic shape tee to green, albeit I have seen it in slightly better if I am being nitpick. Tees were even, level and had full coverage 8/10. Fairways were just about perfect 9/10. Rough was overall good as well about 2 inches in length 8/10. I wasn't in any bunkers but they looked great. Greens were the highlight, rolling firm and fast but holding shot 9/10. Gurus should be in for a treat later this week! Always recommended.

I can’t really add much to the recent reviews except that now is the time to play here,conditions are some of the best I have seen here. Fairways green and lush,rough just high enough to make you work a bit and greens running quick and pure.
POP was 3:45 with a little waiting because we were a twosome behind a foursome.
Typical covid precautions with no rakes or water on the course. Range and practice green are open. Masks required in the clubhouse which is open for snacks and drinks to go.We saw the cart several times and some workers raking bunkers from time to time.

Played Goose Creek today on a beautiful and rare day off from work and the course looks and is in fantastic shape. Check in was smooth and went over to range to hit and chip.. When I got to the first tee I met up my playing partners who were an an older (65+ ) korean couple Yoon & Anne and were extremely nice to play with. I was planning on playing III (the whites) because my back can't take the 6700 yards anymore but they had the IV (blues) moved up so I said what the heck. First I will start with the tee boxes, I didn't see too many divots and overall I thought tee boxes were excellent. They must have came out of overseeding recently because starter said it was 90 degree rule and cart path for the par 3's and fairways showed it because they were in great shape. The greens are the best I have seen there in a while, very few divots marks and they rolled very true. Didn't visit sand at all but it looks they were raked this morning. Regardless of when you play here, this course is first class all the way from the check in to the cart girl who came by 3-4 times, everyone and everything there is top notch. Definitely recommended..
