Joined Jim, Rob, and Steve yesterday during the guru rounds yesterday. After Reading everyone's review one thing is for sure. Don't make the Superintendent angry because he will put pins in the most diabolical locations you can think of. Course was in Fantastic shape from tee to green as expected this time of the year after all of the rain.

Earlier in the day they had the SCGA qualifier and they stretched the course out to max distance. Pins were all tucked and greens were very firm and fast. Add that to the false edges on all green it made for a tough day for your short game. Tee's and fairways were lush. I can only say one fairway had some Ground Under Repair but even it didn't look bad. Rough was generally good as long as you were within 10-15 yards of the fairway. Ii was not in any sand so I cant judge it but from the look it seemed fine.

Overall this a very fun course and I highly recommend.

Played today as part of the GK Guru group. Really enjoyed playing with Vince, Jerry and Gary. A nice mix of golf games. Vince had a handful of birdies and a great day putting, so that was great to witness as well. The rest of us each got one, I believe. Some very good shots made, and what a good time!

Last off of the Gurus, I think our POP was just about 4hrs, maybe just a few mins more, but was a good pace overall.

Received word from Ross Fisher that the greens were very firm and not holding shots very well. That indeed was the case - they were very fast, but did putt very nicely/smooth. Best approach was to guess about a club less than the yardage. Did have at least 4 balls roll off the back after landing on the greens.

Tees, fairways and rough were probably the best overall I've seen this year. Got mud a few times on the ball, but fairways were really nice, firm, good lies, and no mushy areas whatsoever. Was in one greenside bunker, and sand was fluffy.

Might try to get back out before aeration in a few weeks time. Thanks to Johnny and Ross Fisher for setting up the great day for us!

Great day at the Goose with GKers Matt, Rob and Steve. Windy, warm, perfect golf weather! Found the course in great shape, all cylinders running well. Greens were fast and tricky, tees were level, fairways plush, likewise with the rough, fun varied layout that was set up pretty tough. Second time here and I liked it the first go around and enjoyed it even more today. Go play it! Addendum: After sleeping on it I just wanted to add that the contours of the greens, runoff/collection areas, pits and dips makes this a really fun course to play . . . tricky, but not overly so. This course makes you think which helps keep, my mind anyways, engaged and interested.

Rode the Blues (6556/71.0/126) in 4H. Overcast, WINDY conditions in the mid 60's. GK Guru outing with JohnnyGK, RGM2525 and Weber2323. Thanks to Johnny, Ron and Mike for a fun round in spite of the wind. The tees were mowed nicely with good coverage. However, the Blue par 3's were really chewed up today. They had a SCGA qualifer in the morning and it looked like everyone took a divot and no one repaired anything. Several par 3's had a full row of fresh divots obviously made today from marker to marker. The fairways were semi lush, good coverage, very playable. The rough also had good coverage and could be penal even though not overly high. Just long enough to make longer clubs challenging. The traps were very nicely maintained with good quality sand. The large greens were smooth, firm and medium fast. So firm they were few ball marks. Chipping and stopping irons in the wind was a challenge. Enjoyable and fun course to play, tough w/o being overly punitive. Nice, all grass driving range with good chipping/putting practice area. No drink cart today. The customer service was very good from all encountered. Course was in very nice shape, highly recommended.

3/12 guru outing, having a good time playing with Jerry, Vince, and Lee. Blustery day with about a 1-2 club wind to contend with as well as some pretty tough pins for me at least. Conditions are outstanding, fairways are lush, cut rather tight giving decent roll out but still really lies. Tees also lush and level. Bunkers freshly groomed. Rough just long enough to impede forward progress and thick enough to present a challenge.
Greens are fast with slope and contours that were for me often difficult to read precisely as I had several near makes and a bunch of out right misses that traveled well past the hole. Chipping also required better execution than I brought today as often what looked like an ok shot would gather speed and race away. Greens were in excellent condition and very healthy.
Friendly staff and a great practice area.

Rode the Blues (6556/71.0/126) in 4H, 20M with 24hourgolf, MrKich and USCDodger32 in overcast, breezy conditions in the mid 60's. Thanks to Larry, Mathew and Daniel for a fun round! Love Schmidt/Curley layouts. Well above average course that has 18 good to excellent golf holes. Course knowledge would assist on many holes to know where not to miss around some of the large green complexes. Around numerous greens are runoff areas where you are unlikely to get the ball up/down if you miss there. The tees were well maintained with good coverage. Only a few par 3's needed divot attention. The fairways had good coverage and were still soft from the recent rains. Definitely not lush, but very playable. The rough also had good coverage and could be penal even though not overly long. Just long enough to mess with longer clubs. The traps were decently maintained with good quality sand. The large greens putted nice overall. Firm, more medium speed than medium fast. So firm they were few ball marks. All grass driving range and nice chipping/putting areas are a +. Enjoyable and fun course to play, tough w/o being overly punitive. #18 is a classic finishing hole, long par 4 with water prominently in play on every shot. Drink cart out making the rounds several times. The customer service was very good from all encountered. Course was in very nice shape, but it paled in comparasion to multiple tounds I played this week @ Desert Willow and PGA West. $89 including range balls to play is high even for a weekend primetime, but still highly recommended.

Played today in a GK match play with Nickesquire; MrKich and uscdodger32. Lot of activity around the putting green and driving range when I arrived, but check in was smooth and started out right on time. We actually played in 4.5 H. They just allowed the carts back on the course yesterday and that was a big help in POP, not having to do CPO. Tee boxes were all level and clean. Fairways were in good shape, providing good lies, but minimal roll IMO. I missed all the bunkers (wow) but heard no complaints from anyone about their condition. Rough was not high, but enough to cause some issues, if your ball settled down. And of course, you do have many OB areas and the lake on 18 to contend with. It appears that on the back 9, they have lost some trees, during the latest round of storms. Greens were in very nice shape and chipped/putted very well with decent speed. The only negative was the $80 fee to play? I realize it is a Sat, but IMO that seems to high and no doubt does turn potential golfers off, who only can play weekends? BTW/FYI for those of you playing Tues @ G C in GK play. There is significant construction at the Limonite/I 15 exit. You will need to allow some extra time. And for those who like Five Guys, there is one in the plaza at that exit. Great for after the round, IMO.

Teed off Monday at 7:15 finishing in 3:50. Goose is in very good winter shape. The greens were in great condition. They rolled medium/fast and play a little firm on full shots and chips. The fairways were in great shape for winter. There was good coverage with good lies all day. The rough is mostly good with a few thin spots. The bunkers were in good condition. The tee boxes were good and mostly flat.

Its always worth driving from north Orange County to play Goose. The year round conditions are hard to beat. The staff is always friendly.

Played Tues Feb 26th at 7:30 we usually pkay earlier but pushed it back to get warmer weather. We were a 4 some walking and POP was 3:46, a bit slow for us as we waited on most holes. This course is always in great shape and today was the same. Desk knows us and are very friendly. I love the layout here, but have to admit the course is easier and more forgiving than others that we play. Still a great walking course and you know you will have great conditions, and it is only 3 miles from my house, LOL
