Goose Creek was it's usual self. Great fairways no bad lies here.So if your'e on the fairway you have a good lye, The rough was fair and not to heavy to hit from. Some of the fairway traps look very neglected. A few were just mixed sand and mud and hard and a few others had weeds growing in them. Not the usual for here.The greens were for the most part smooth. But it appears that there is some type of issue on at least one green being damaged by a fungus of some sort. Pace of play was just over four hours.

Played GC yesterday for the first time in over 5 years. It was even better than I remember. I had always enjoyed this course for the lush conditions, the tree features, and the value. The greens were in great shape and held shots well. Didn't find a bunker but didn't see any issues. The course design is generally pretty fun with some features that some people will detest (like trees in the fairway) but there is a lot of variety to keep most people happy. If you haven't played here, you should consider it a great track for your money. Just wish it was closer for me. Definitely need to make it out here once a year.

Played this morning. Got good weather with hardly a hint of wind. POP was under 4:30. Tee boxes and fairways were great, even for Goose creek I thought they were as good as I’ve ever seen them. Rough was good as well. Bunkers were fine, not perfect but some okay sand. Greens however were probably in the worst shape I’ve ever seen for Goose Creek. They’re slow, bumpy and inconsistent. Some have big unrepaired ball marks that aren’t healing. Number five green has some gnarly fungus or something with big patches gone. I wouldn’t say the greens were terrible, but for goose creek standards it was very disappointing. Hopefully they figure them out in the next couple weeks, always come to expect such firm fast smooth greens here, not even close to comparable to Costa Mesa at the moment.

Played early this morning and the course is in great shape as usual. Just a note that the greens have recently been lightly sanded. Did not really effect putts much but the number 5 green is in bad shape for some reason. They are working hard to get it back in better condition. The one issue I usually had out here was the sand traps but they are much improved. This is the best value by far in So Cal.

I played today with a tee time of 9:07. Check in was fast and friendly and we were sent out a few minutes early. The course and practice areas are always in good condition, and today was no exception. The tee boxes were level with a moderate number of divots. The fairways were beautiful with good coverage and only a few thin areas. The rough was short in most places but I did manage to a few spots that almost covered my ball. There were several areas around the course that had some browning but honestly I only noticed it when I was looking around to take photos or mental notes. Early in the round, the greens were firm and fast and just kept getting faster! With the many huge undulations and even the smaller more subtle breaks, these greens are challenging! I was very happy with 35 putts today. The bunkers weren’t great. The three I was in ranged from deep/soft to thin/crusty to muddy. We finished in just a little over 3.5 hrs. I love this course. It’s beautiful, tough and so much fun. The weekday senior rate of $47 with cart is so reasonable I will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended.

There are certain things about living in Southern California which you can rely upon. The freeways will be crowded, gas prices higher than the rest of the country, and Goose Creek will be in great condition. All those things remained a constant.

The Goose is always in fine condition, nothing to complain about, Fairways, greens, green surrounds very tight, and well maintained bunkers. I am impressed just how consistent and nice they maintain this course. Add that to the general layout, which is a joy to play, and the friendly and accommodating staff, it's no wonder this course I always busy, yet they are able to keep pace of play very reasonable. Simply put, it is just a very well run facility.

I can never remember playing here where I walked off disappointed. (except for my lack of golfing ability) Fun course, enough of a challenge without beating you up (Except for #18) and walker friendly. What more could I ask for?

6/3 $42 to ride with the special daily rate, playing with my son Grant(very much a recreational player) and shirt tail relatives in law from Scotland, Paul(a scratch golfer) and his father Ian(who has recently returned to the game)--a very enjoyable round with a lot of humor and jovial interaction.
Fairways generally in good shape firm enough for a little roll out but good cushion and good lies. Did notice quite a few unfilled divots probably related to the # of walkers that the course attracts. Rough was cut down to about 2 inches enough to slow the ball but not to penal for shots. Found 2 fairway bunkers that were more on the soft side which requires a more precise strike and 1 green side with ample groomed sand. Tees had good coverage and level.
Greens rolled medium-medium fast and were consistent for the round. Greens are well contoured with pin placements in 4 zones. Today most pins were more centered in the zone making them somewhat more accessible. However with the slope surrounding most greens a near miss adds an extra 5-10 yards on the scramble.
Friendly golfer oriented staff. POP right at 4 hr with occasional waiting but with the setting and the company it was enjoyable.

Played the Goose with the Dawgs on Sunday, PoP a bit slow at 4:45. Weather was cool and very windy but we lucked out and had no rain, just a few minutes of drizzle was all. So, maybe today was not the best conditions to write a review for a course that everyone rates so highly, as mine will not be as positive. Let's start with the greens which were probably not mown this morning: very firm so chip shots were unpredictable and most rolled out 5-10 ft. farther than anticipated. Not fun when you chip from those collection areas that are adjacent to every green and a big part of the defense of this course layout. But putting was a tad on the slow side and somewhat bumpy, so it was very difficult if you wanted to die it in the hole. Bunkers were downright terrible. I'm talking a half inch of thin sand over hard pan. All my playing partners said the same thing. Fairways were green but thin lies most of the time, could not take much of a divot. Rough not deep, very playable ... sometimes better than the fairway. Always enjoy playing the Goose, we just caught it on a bad day which was disappointing, especially when we payed premium dollars (and I walked). Big, wide fairways and a scorers paradise on a good day. Won't scratch it off my list but it's just not all that ... at least on Sunday. Add: I realize this is a huge contrast from previous reviews. I have no hidden agenda, just call 'em as I see 'em.
