Played Tuesday course was in great condition. Got off on schedule, 4some in front started a bit slow, but got on pace, POP was 4hrs 10 min.

Tee boxes were in decent condition some were not very level but ok. All areas were lush, good roll on fairways, greens were quick, bunkers were ok some with good sand some not.

Overall a great golf day.

Played today with a group of friends. The course was in very nice conditions from the rough, fairways and greens. One of my favorite courses. Fairways were nice and green, did roll when hit on the fairway giving you added distance. Greens are fully recovered from aeration. They rolled true but fast. Unfortunately we had to deal with some windy conditions. POP was slightly over 4 hours as they were really busy. Staff always great as usual.

Played Sunday in a tournament. Usual good experience with service throughout. Nice training area which I usually do not have time to take advantage of, but this time got to hit, chip and putt.

Played Sunday in a tournament. Usual good experience with service throughout. Nice training area which I usually do not have time to take advantage of, but this time got to hit, chip and putt.

The course was in excellent shape. I was only in one bare spot in a fairway. There was some very faded white paint around at least part of it but I could not tell if the area I was in was part of what had been designated GUR. Otherwise had good lies throughout, if fairly tight around the greens. The rough was a factor but not tall enough to make it difficult to find balls.

The greens had been punched. They rolled much better than I expected at medium speed. Some bumps but I did not have any putts I missed that I could blame on the aeration. One note. The greens on the course were not as fast as the practice putting greens. I three putted the first two holes before I figured that out.

Pace of play was somewhere between 4.5 and 5 hours. Word was our first group was well behind and the ranger was asked to push them. When we spotted them near the end of the round they looked to be near on pace with the group in front of them, so it was probably the course that dictated the POP. There were quite a few people out there on a beautiful day.

Was invited out by cthuyen and his friends to play GC on 3/22. Appreciate the invite and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. On a cool and very busy day, there wasn’t much wind which was appreciated as we all know the wind can blow pretty good out here. Played in just under 4.5 hours but it really didn’t seem that long.

Cannot really add a lot to the cthuyen’s previous review only to agree on how nice this course is. It is in great shape right now at all levels. Guys in the clubhouse were all great. I told them I should be getting the senior rate but one guy said he didn’t believe me. He was kidding I think . lol. Anyway we joked about being senior and had a good laugh.

The greens were exceptional. Rolled perfectly and were fast. They were not holding unless you clipped it clean. Fairways were fast as well and you can get some good roll out here. They are going to be aerating the greens very soon which will impact play but once recovered, the greens should be nice again. Go play!!

Greens were super firm and in great shape running at 10/11. Great customer service and awesome practice facility. Really miss playing here and had a great day. Worth the trek from Monterey Park.

Played 3-12-19 with John, Mike, and Nick getting around the course in a little over 4 hours with no waiting. Tees were level with good coverage, and had a little bit of divot damage on some of the par threes. Fairways were in really nice shape, lush with great lies and descent roll out. Rough was very lush with some minor thin areas, and nice to hit from. Was in one greenside bunker that had nice sand and was well groomed. Greens were definitely the best part of the course, rolling smooth and fast and mostly firm. Overall course is in really good shape right now and worth playing.

Great time at Goose Creek! Fun and challenging to play the golf course set up for an SCGA qualifier that day. Still having nightmares about some of those pin placements. The afternoon wind added an extra layer of difficulty. I often hear it’s a golf course that is designed to be an easy bogey and difficult par. Well nothing was easy about Goose Creek Tuesday! – LOL

Course was in great shape. Greens fast, very firm and mostly smooth. Fairways lush, cut tight and firm. Rough short and not that punishing but you certainly wanted to be in the fairways. Tee boxes (played the blues) lush, tight and level. Bunkers had quality sand and well maintained.

Layout, I just posted some beautiful photos from Tuesday, mostly level, large undulating greens with many false fronts. Fairways mostly wide but miss them and pay the price of trees, OB, brush hazards and water hazards. Even though we rode, it’s a gem of a walker’s course. Tees are spaced next to the previous hole greens and as I mentioned level course. The layout allows those that like playing a high or low ball to score… as long as they are putting well. Lots of dog legs and fun risk/reward par 5’s.

Great service from all the staff.

Highly Recommended.

I made the quick trip south on the 15 to join the GK gurus at Goose Creek, following SCGA Mid Am qualifier. I arrived early and took advantage of a decent lunch menu while watching the players play 18 from the clubhouse patio. They also have a nice beer selection, including a great red ale from Fullerton's Bootlegger's Brewery.

I haven't played Goose Creek in 6 years and could not remember much except how gloomy it was for both my morning rounds. The course just pops with sunny clear skies, green forever. They have a large grass driving range and huge practice green, with the same undulations you'll see on the course.

Course was in phenomenal shape. The white tee boxes were all level with no damage. Fairways were like carpet, with one showing damage and marked off as GUR. The rough was gradual with it getting deeper the farther you were away from the fairway. I found one green side bunker and the sand was "medium heavy." The greens were just awesome and probably the fastest I've played on. They were firm and glassy smooth, but high shots did check and leave a mark.

I also went out yesterday and echo everyone's comments thus far. Just how tough was it, well the winning score for the SCGA Mid Am qualifier was +1, yes over par. I don't know if I've seen a qualifier that didn't have a least one person under par. I even think the wind picked up as we start so it made the conditions that much tougher. I think someone mentioned that there was a 2 club wind I think I hit a difference of 3 clubs a couple of times.

Greens were in great shape, they had those things rolling. I was surprised they could get them that fast with all this rain. I just couldn't get it in my head which is probably why I 3 putted so many times.

Fairways are great too. There were some GUR but they were clearly marked and still plenty of room to hit. Nice turf to hit from too.

Rough not too bad but enough to get your attention. You need to catch it clean.

I still think this course needs to be re-rated, I think I you look at the scorecard and look at the rating and slope you'd think this is a push over but this is an angry goose. I'm actually trying to find a way to get back up there before the maintenance. Staff was outstanding as they always are. I wish I lived closer I would play it much more than I do. It's a good time to go play.
