Played here 11/12/17. Was the third group off the tee box at 6:15am. POP Was great! I was in a threesome and we finished in 4 hr 15 min and we played from the blues. The group in back of us was a twosome and they only had to wait on us on 2 holes. We never really saw them. Tee boxes were in pretty good shape, greens were excellent but did roll slow, fairways were decent but not super good..... The rough was how rough should be, "crab grass, or extremely long" The course was worth the money and staff was very friendly. We paid $60 to tee off. I think this course is priced perfectly for the conditions right now. If you haven't played here before be prepared, it's extremely long. I shot a 57 on the front which was an all time worst for me and followed it up with a 38 on the back which is one of my better 9 holes ive ever played. Fairly easy course if you don't get into trouble.

Played Fri Nov 3rd at 753, got out on time, friendly check in, POP was ok at 420, waited on a 4 some every hole, course is in good shape, tee boxes level, fairways nice, rough long enough to affect your shot, but short enough to find your ball, bunkers ok, just a little wet sand, but we are getting to winter golf so ..... Greens rolled real nice and were receptive. I play here too much but for the price and me NOT having to drive the 91 freeway to play in OC with my mates it is a good central spot. Will play North next Friday lol

Played 11/2/17 with a POP of 4 hours. Greens rolled nice medium speed. They recovered nicely from aeration. Fairways were nice and green. Rough was hard to hit from due to the type of grass, catching your clubs open. Overall course in nice condition.

Played LS South on Saturday 10/28. We actually had 2 tee times, 8:02 and 8:12 for 8 of us and we got out right on time. Pace of play was a bit slow early on but it picked up as the day progressed. Finished in about 4:30. A pretty busy morning and there was a juniors tournament later that morning which explained why there was no colored flags on the pins (red, white, blue). All were blue, PGA flags. They had pin sheets but they weren’t available to the public.

I really can’t add much more than the two previous reviewers gave as they pretty much covered it. The course is in nice condition. Fairways were cut down nicely but many of the fairways were pretty damp. Nothing worse than wet, kikuyu grass. Not much roll out unless you hit on a downslope. Sand traps, tee boxes in nice shape.

The greens seemed to be a bit better than described, not as bumpy and rolled nicely. About medium speed but they held good shots very well.

Los Serranos South is a challenging course. It is long, about 6800 yards from the whites and just under 7200 yards from the blues but is one of the better public golf courses in the area. The two courses gives everyone a shot to get a good tee time on most any day. The driving range is huge which is mostly mats but sometimes they move them up on the grass. Nice views as well from the higher elevation tee boxes, particularly on #7 South and #13 on the north. Good discounts during the week/afternoon. Definitely recommend. Give it a go.

Staff is always accommodating and rarely experience any problem getting out. (Having two courses helps of course) Senior rate makes it a good value. Always enjoy my round at Los Serranos. However every time I play, I think back of what the course looked like before they lost all their trees. They've replanted many new trees, but I won't be around to see them fully grown

The course in very good shape.
The tee boxes are flat and level, with minimum divots. The fairways where cut tight and the conditions where excellent, with minimal brown spots. They did have the course well watered. The rough was very low. I could find my ball and it was easy to advance any shots in the rough.
The bunker sand is really fine and and easy to swing through, no pebbles or stones to scar your clubs. The greens seemed to have been aerated within a week or so, the ball rolled a little slow, but not too bad. The ball does hold its line, and you will get a true roll, if you give the putt a good firm stroke.
Like always I do recommend this course, because of the 2 course options, you can usually get on , but sometimes POP can be long. I did finish in about 4 hours, but that was a Friday morning.

Played Saturday 10/7 at 9am. Course is still recovering from punching the greens about 2 weeks ago. Greens were playable but definitely soft still and on the slow/fuzzy side. One more week and I’m sure they’ll be in solid shape, very nice in 2 weeks. Fairways were good for the most part but definitely some wet and bare spots out there. Rough is always patchy. Bunkers were better than I thought they would be looking at them, well raked still early in the day. Very slow day out there took over five hours, but it is a longer course and par 74. Fun time overall and worth the price.

I heard the starter saying that the South course would be punched Tuesday Sept 26, just FYI. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers were real nice, with allot of sand in the greenside bunkers. Greens were a little slower than normal IMHO but maybe it was just that I did not putt very well, I kept pulling my stroke to the inside on the follow thru and missed 6 or 7 putts that I should have made. Well that is Golf, sometime you make them and sometimes you don't LOL Service was great as always for breakfast and lunch.

Played with my monthly club at 8:45 on a hot, clear Saturday, 8/12/17. We play here every August. Management continues to tweak the facility – since I only play here once or twice a year, but have been coming here for 30 years, I notice some of the changes as “new” to me. Carts had a simple GPS last year, but it’s gone this year, leaving only the colored plates in the fairways. More trees/brush areas look to be cleared out. The pitch-and-putt area next to the parking lot is gone. They’ve removed the ball machine – get your baskets at the desk. All parts of the course displayed a feast or famine motif today – greens, fairways, and rough were either very dry and firm or overwatered and soft/wet. You could have dry/bare conditions in the rough next to a muddy/rutted area. Fairways were generally good but there were scattered areas of very thin or bare lies. Greens generally had good coverage, but were alternately very dry/firm or soft/wet, making judging speeds difficult from green to green. Pitches to the softer greens stuck immediately or backed well down any sloping areas. Speeds were generally medium, but lots of fresh and old ballmarks. Many rough areas looked like they had been allowed to grow quite long, then were scalped down, leaving brown, thick-stemmed rooty material. Tees were generally OK, although par-3 tees were pretty torn up. The course provides refill buckets there and some (but not most) previous players had used them. I wasn’t in a bunker, but playing partners had remarks about variable conditions. There wasn’t as much wind today as I normally see in the late morning/afternoon here – as a result, it was very hot and the darned thick kikuyu really holds the moisture and contributes to muggy conditions. Fortunately, plenty of water available. Carts are very basic – no wind screens, no cooler or washer, and the cart guys were sending carts out with empty sand refill bottles, so I had to go searching for some. Saw a cart person making the rounds a couple of times, and a “ranger” drove by a couple times. Pace was OK for this venue on a weekend – we started about on time and finished in about 5 hours. We saw several groups going out before us using the blue tees – they likely “always play blue”. Here, however, the blue tees are almost 7,200 yards!! Better take a look at that scorecard beforehand! That likely contributes to longer rounds.
