Played yesterday in the outing too and agree with what everyone has said thus far. I just wanted to add there have been some new tee boxes since I was last here. #3 moved back about 30 yards. #4 looks like they brought is down some and open up the area around it a bit (although the tees were not back there when we played). Lastly #17, park your cart and take a hike back. Its about 40 yards back making it about a 570 yard par 5 which usually plays into a wind, my goodness. It was a tiny tee box before but they've redone the tee area so there should be more places they can put these markers.

Tee boxes were great, par 3s had a little more wear and tear.

Fairways are great to hit from and the rough did have some bite to them.

Greens were firm. Rarely saw any ball marks and I remember Nick hitting a moon ball on 12 about 10 feet from the pin only to have it release off the back of the green and we couldn't find where his ball land. Even though there were firm I don't think the speed was unrealistic. They rolled pretty good for me despite the couple of 3 putts I had but those were misreads on my part.

Found 2 bunkers. I was in the fairway bunker on 8 and it was too firm for me. The greenside one on 9 was fine, had plenty of sand to barely get it over the lip.

I always think this course plays more difficult than the rating but always always always forget this is a par 71. If you've looking for a birdie on the final 3 holes it would be a challenge. 16 is a long par 3, 17 is a par 5 into the wind, and 18 well enough has been said about that hole. Finally made a par on 18 so now I can die a happy man. I'm willing to make the drive up to play this course and I'm never disappointed and look forward to coming back again. Thanks to Johnny for organizing, the course for hosting and my playing partners for putting up with me.

Played The Goose with GK Guru’s leef2020, breangolf and the host johnnygk. It was also on the same day of the Calif. State Amateur qualifier so we had to expect very nice conditions. They were but much more difficult course. Played the blues which I normally do but it played much longer especially with relatively strong winds. Despite it all, it was still a lot of fun and finished in just over 4 hours.

Tee boxes were manicured but hard. Fairways were in great shape even though many of the lies I found were tight. Was in a couple of bunkers and they were in great condition. The greens were not real fast but were rolling nicely. Have seen them much faster here. They were hard however and on some holes it was best to hit it short and run it on to the green.

Highly recommend playing here. Pace of play is rarely an issue here as it always seems to move well. Another great GK Guru outing and thanks to Johnny so setting it up. Also thanks to Ross Fisher for hosting us. Customer service was great but its always great out here.

I played here about two weeks ago and the fairways were cut shorter and were drier this time. I really like this track and encourage everyone to give it a try. One of the best conditioned courses in So Cal.

Joined in with the GK Guru's at Goose Creek on 5/18/18. We followed a Cal Am qualifier in the morning, so we were treated to some back tees and challenging pin placements, although it could have been made even more difficult.

I haven't been to GC in a few years, and things remain consistent as far as the course goes. Above average conditions all the way around. A very solid layout, fun to play, and challenging in spots, especially with some wind today. No need to call out any specific area, everything was in good shape.

I will make note of one change. This course does not have the usual "signature hole". However, it has always had the signature smell of cattle due to dairy farm west of the course. For better or worse, the dairy farm is gone, as housing sprawl is pushing up to the west edge of the course. So, things smell better, but we are going to have houses. Still, the impact is only on a few holes, and it looks like for now, the course will still be relatively isolated.

Goose Creek remains one of my favorite tracks to play.

Rode the Blues (71.0/126/6556) in 4H, 10M with weber2323, MrKich and adigitalg8787 in bright, breezy conditions in the mid 60's. Thanks to Mike, Mathew and Gus for a fun round! The tees were well maintained. No issues with level lies and the coverage was good. Only a few par 3's needed divot attention. The fairways had good coverage and played firm. Definitely not lush, but very playable. The rough was more lush than thin. The rough could be penal even though not overly long. I was not in any traps today, they looked okay. The large greens putted nice overall. Firm, more medium speed than medium fast. So firm they were hardly any ball marks and chipping to tight pins set up for their qualifier was a challenge. Love this Schmidt/Curley layout, 1st time I have played here in several years. Course knowledge is helpful on many holes to know where not to miss around some of the large green complexes. Around numerous greens are runoff areas where you are unlikely to get the ball up/down if you miss there. Enjoyable and fun course to play, tough w/o being overly punitive. Well above average course that has 18 good to excellent golf holes. #18 is a classic finishing hole, long par 4 with water prominently in play on every shot. No drink cart out today, but the customer service was good for all encountered. All grass driving range and nice chipping/putting areas are a + Definitely recommended.

Played today in the GK Guru event. This was my 2nd one and would encourage anyone who is nervous about playing, come out and enjoy the fun. Great group of GK members to meet and socialize with. Was able to get out in the first group and we finished in 4 hours. Course was in very good shape, as they had an SCGA qualifier in the morning for the CA Amateur. I had not played here in many years. The surrounding area has expanded greatly. They are even leveling the land across the street from the course, where the dairy use to be, to build houses (bet no one misses the smell LOL). Tee boxes were great. Fairways had good coverage and provided good lies (IMO) all round and had good roll out (especially the downwind holes). Was in at least 3 bunkers (I think ?) and the sand was very playable. Greens were (IMO) very good. They held shots. They chipped/putted well and I had forgotten how large they are (local knowledge would be very beneficial). Customer service was excellent at all levels. I totally enjoyed the driving range (people are not right on top of you) and the numerous putting areas. Thank you Johnny (and Goose Creek) for another enjoyable Guru outing.

We got off 5 minutes late, 3 of us walking and following an older 3 some, POP was still good at 4:00 The course is in very good shape, tee boxes fairways, and greens great. was in 2 bunkers and eh so so as usual, they get winds here every day in the afternoon so I think they wet down the bunkers in the morning to stop the sand from blowing out. I happen to like dry sand and struggle with wet sand. just me. The greens really rolled nice. Great course to walk, and only 3 miles from my house. LOL

The wife and I played here on Sunday around mid-day and it was a nice enjoyable round. Pace was 4 1/4 hours for us and we were following a foursome in front who moved along pretty good. We only waited on the three final holes and didn't have a back-up behind us even though we were being followed by a two bag and there was a two bag behind them. The course was in really good shape from the tee to the greens which is about what I expected. Some of the views and layout of the course are really special. At $80 for full price it is steep for the area but for the conditions, pace and overall enjoyment of your round I would say it's close to worth it.

Played Sunday 4/22 10:23 tee time. Got out about 10:35. Round took 4.25 hours. I was a single and was placed with a threesome.
It's been about 2 years since I played here last. As usual, course was in really great condition. A few greens are still healing from punching, but most are good. A few bare spots in 12 fairway, all others I had great lies all day. Thankfully was only in one bunker, hard packed sand which was fine since it was fairway bunker. No complaints from playing partners that were in a few greenside bunkers.
Great staff, great range. No beverage cart this day, but a few water stations kept us hydrated on a fairly warm, sometimes windy day.
I don't get to play that often - this was only my second 18 of the year. As such, I'm hesitant to play as a single as I've not always had the best luck in who I'm paired with which can impact the enjoyment of playing. That was certainly not the case here. The 3 guys I played with were a lot of fun and treated me like I was one of their group. I didn't score well but had a great day at the Goose.
