Played in the GK Plays on Sunday, 3/20, and teed it up with John_T, MPisarski and itslikeimsayin. It was a great group and we have all known each other for years thanks to GK. John and I made the trek from Vegas, 3.5 hours each way, and definitely worth an one day golf trip.

This is the 4th time I've played here, and 1st in 3 years, and the course has never disappointed me. Conditions were outstanding. Lush fairways with no bare spots. Smooth greens that were running at a medium pace. Rough was up enough to make you think about the shot, about 2 inches. Bunkers appeared to have new all white sand that just glowed. Sand was consistent in both fairway and green side, like fine but heavy beach sand. Nice in the green side, not so fun in the fairway bunkers.

Course has a large driving range, chipping area, putting green, and a small putting green next to the 1st tee. The clubhouse and no-frills bar/grill does not match the course, but the food they do have is excellent along with the prices. I love sitting on the patio, watching players finish 18, and it's protected from the prevailing wind. Highly recommend this course if anywhere in a few hours drive.

Played the GK Plays event on Sunday 3/20 with Lindsay, Perry, and Wendy and enjoyed their company. I admit I was a bit flustered by the very windy conditions, and trying to knock the rust off after not playing in 5 weeks was difficult enough. But an enjoyable time in the round and seeing old faces afterward, including my guardian angel CPennbo. Conditions have been thoroughly described by other reviewers and are consistent with my review of 2/16 – GCGC always seems to be in great condition and now is no different. Thanks to Johnny for setting up this outing. Always recommended.

Played on 3-20 with GK. Course was in fantastic condition as always. Greens were quick and well maintained. Fairways were a good length and green through. Hole 12 had some grass issues they were obviously addressing. The tee boxes were level AND appropriately lush! Sand was fluffy and sparkling. As always a very well maintained course. We had a no-show GKer in our group so we played as a 3some. Didn't think it would be a problem since the group in front of us was also a 3some. Things started to bog down around the 7th or 8th hole and the 4some behind us was waiting on our group! But of course we were waiting on those in front of us! (dominoes) I was very happy to have a marshal show up on the 10th. He went and found out what (who?) the issue was. He came back and stopped to tell us he thought it should start moving faster. Don't know who he talked to or what he said but we were all glad that a marshal actually did their job and addressed PoP! Isn't that what we want all courses to do? We finished in 4 1/2 hours which is a long round at Goose. Had a great day, good playing company, superb weather. I didn't find anything wrong that would cause me to change my opinion about Goose being a great course to play!

I played in the GK outing yesterday with Perry, David and Lindsey. Playing here is such a treat. The course conditions, as other reviews have noted, were near perfect from tee to green. Visually, this course makes me so happy. The contrast of the emerald green fairways spotted with the snow white bunkers was stunning. The entire course was very neatly manicured. Other than some loud music coming from a nearby home, it was so peaceful out there.
The driving range was disappointing being mats. I was able to put in a short tee which worked fine for hitting my driver, but I definitely prefer the grass. The putting green and chipping areas were great. The carts were about as basic as they come. It would be nice if they could add GPS.
I played really well and always enjoy the GK festivities afterwards. I’m still smiling thinking about all of it. Thank you Johnny and Goose Creek for another wonderful day!

Played Sunday March 20th with the greenskeeper group. Teed off at 1230, meet a nice father and son to play with and the kid is a good high school player. There have been other reports of issues with the starter and marshalls at this course in past reviews and since I never had any before I was surprised. Well now add me to the list of very dissatisfied golfers for this course. As I was driving the cart to the first tee the starter got out of his cart and approached me, I proceeded to give him a wide berth so I didn't run him over and started with a very friendly "good morning, or should I say afternoon " the first words out of his mouth in a very nasty tone was "you can park that cart on the pavement and not the grass, we are trying to grow grass there" I proceeded to back the cart up and position the right side tires on the concrete and got out and said to him"well I don't need to be friendly to you any more" that is NOT the way to greet people on the first tee. This course is supposed to be one of the better, elite course in the I.E. and they should be ashamed to have a starter greet a player like that. This pi$$ed me off so much it affect my first 4 holes.
As far as the course conditions, it was in very good shape. I agree with the previous review the mats are not good as you can not put a tee into them and practice with the driver.

Played with the GK group on 3-20-22. Course is as great as always. Greens were fast and deceptive, bunkers in perfect condition. Over all still one of the best courses in So Cal. There was some dead spots on the 12th fairway (the only spots) but other than that great lies and conditions. The only negative would be that the practice area has always been another aspect of the course that excels. Nice chipping area and lots of practice greens. For the first time ever they had artificial turf to hit off on the driving range. Not my favorite surface to hit off and though you could sort of put a tee in it to hit driver it was unstable and difficult to set your tee. It looks like this is a permanent set up so a disappointing development in my mind but it will not stop me from playing this course! Truly a must play!

Played here today in the second group of the GK event with mpisarski01, rob1563 and John T. Good times! Started right on time, waited on most holes, and finished almost exactly four and a half hours later. Gusty winds at times but otherwise beautiful day.

Course conditions are excellent! Greens were just about perfect: medium-fast, smooth, accepting of full shots. Probably a 9/10 in my book. Unfortunately they're about to punch them next week, but hopefully they come back just as good after they heal. Fairways were very nice. I never saw any issues with coverage and they were very well manicured. Rough was mostly lush and a couple inches deep, not too thick to be penal. "III" tee boxes (weird roman numeral naming convention – I, II, III, IV – since the last time I played here) were mostly good. A couple seemed a little tilted. I was only in two fairway bunkers and they were excellent, although I hit bad shots each time. (Also my first time playing here since they replaced all the sand with that pure white sand.)

Huge thanks to Johnny and all the sponsors. I got a beautiful new Linksoul shirt and hat. Simply a wonderful day on a fun course in great condition. Other local courses could certainly learn from Goose Creek when it comes to conditioning. If only they'd make the effort.

Had a qualifier here this week and made a time last week to get a little preview. Teed off right on time a little after 8 and finished in 3 hours 50 minutes. No waiting really. Group ahead was usually on the green when we were teeing off and the group behind us was typically the same distance. Customer service was outstanding as always. Guys in the proshop were great at getting people checked in, starter was efficient in getting groups off in time and marshal was out there patroling the course.

Greens were a little soft and a tad bumpy for my taste. Nothing too bad but if they were rolled I think they'd be really nice. I didn't think they were that fast but on the back you could tell the greens were running a little bit quicker as it started to dry out.

Fairways were great nice roll on them and good coverage. I don't remember any significant bare areas. Looks like conditions are holding up well even as we are getting closer to the maintenance.

Rough was not penalizing at all but there were some juicy areas. For example the left rough on hole 12 had some thicker areas toward the green.

I was only 2 bunkers and they still are pure white. They do need some raking and while my lies were pretty good one guy in our group did have a plugged lie on the par 3 5th hole.

Tee boxes were fine, never had an issue finding a spot. Even the par 3 tee boxes didn't have that much in divot damage.

Always great getting out to the Goose. It was a spectacular day and probably some of the mildest conditions I have played here.

Played this morning, 3/2 at 8:30. It warmed up quickly and I didn't even need long sleeves. The course is in good shape and the greens were firm and fast. I heard they had Champions Tour qualifying here earlier in the week so conditions were excellent. I like the new traps as now they play fairly. Heard they are punching the greens on 3/28 & 3/29 so take note. Love this course.
