Played today with our weekly foursome. The course in good condition. The course is being overly watered to fight it from drying up. The fairways did start to dry up midday and your ball did roll if you landed on it. The greens have recovered from being aerated approximately 4 weeks ago. The greens were rolling slow as they are still a little shaggy. Great staff. They do need to change the range balls as they are torn up. Still one of the best track to play especially the 18th hole. POP was slightly over 4 hours.

Played 10-07. Greens had been aerated a couple of weeks prior. Course was in good shape overall. Greens were still a little bumpy and considerably slower than usual. Bunkers had nice quality sand except unfortunately there was only about 3/8" of sand before you encountered hard-pan. Actually at 3/8" it was a compacted moist sand that did not accommodate a normal bunker shot. A couple of tee boxes were not level, but overall, most were sufficient. Fairways yielded good lies. The rough was winter rye and any ball that landed in it sunk down to the bottom ( about 3"). Price was right as we all had the Glen Ivy Gold Card. Don't know if I would consider it a good value at the regular rate. POP was good - just under 4 hours.

I just got back from Glen Ivy Golf Club. I was on the first tee a little bit before 2pm and I am back home writing this review at 6pm so that tells you something about the pace of play today! I have not been to this place in 10 years or more. I am not too sure why I have avoided this place. Most of the time I am worried about the drive on the 15 fwy though Corona, but today I decided to risk it and head down.

I have read that the new ownership has been putting in a lot of work to this facility and it was noticeable as soon as you pulled in. They have just repaved the parking lot. The range has a new cover and has a parking lot right in front of it where you can literally pull your car right up to your stall. Everything looked clean and well maintained. I did not use the range so I cannot comment on its condition. It did look like it was all mats though.

Everyone I spoke to today was very friendly. The starter met me at the bag drop and took my clubs and put them on a cart for me. The guy in the Pro Shop that checked me in was very friendly and even gave the the twilight rate even though I was a bit early. The guy running the cart barn at the end of the round was very friendly as well. Customer service was top notch today. Thank you to everyone that helped me out today. Appreciated. (Sorry I didn't get everyone's name).

The course is in great condition. I had not complaints. The greens, fairways, bunkers, rough, tee boxes - all were in awesome shape. I was pleasantly surprised. The rough was a little spotty in some places but nothing that could not be played out of. Well done maintenance crew.

The layout of the course is very enjoyable. There are a lot of elevation here. There are very few holes that are 100% flat, especially on the back 9. The tee shot on 18 is always a treat. There are houses on a number of holes. The landing areas are pretty generous but it can be a little intimidating on holes like #10 and #13 where you have house down both sides of the fairway from tee to green. If the houses do not bother your game, you will 100% enjoy the layout of the course.

It will not be another 10+ years before I go back to Glen Ivy. Awesome course condition, awesome layout, awesome customer service.....what more could I ask for? If you haven't been to Glen Ivy, go check it out. Good times and thank you again to everyone I encountered today. Well done.

8/26 using underpar $78 voucher smooth and easy check in with a golfer centered welcome and message to be able to go out when ready as we arrived early(traversing the ORTEGA out of OC) so started at 10 with no one in sight. Overall POP 345 as we caught a 4some on the back.
Overall course is in good condition. Fairways have good cover and cushion while still giving adequate roll. Rough was marginally penal with some thick challenging areas. Tees level with good cover. Bunkers overall had good sand and were well maintained. Saw one that looked to need a good churn but that was the exception. Still do not understand the difficulty of bending over and using a rake especially when it needed to be stepped over or moved to get to the ball. I would have more sympathy if it was left far away like 10 feet.
Greens are quick firm but receptive for full shots. Some really tough pin placements often tucked in places that were barely legal and took full advantage of the slopes. #8 had some repairs as a former employee disregarded a leaking mower and striped the green with oil. Fortunately the repairs were well done and healing well.
Layout is scenic with good variety. Carts have basic GPS. Up graded covered driving range with quality mats.

I played on Monday 8-2-19 with a friend, using the GK coupon for $39 (such a great deal!)
A lot of improvements have been made in recent months. The driving range has all new mats and covered stalls. They have a new banquet facility including restrooms that are easily accessible from the outside. Check in was easy and we were paired with another twosome who were so much fun to play with.

The course was in very nice shape. The only brown to be seen on the lush fairways was the grass clippings from the mower that we followed for several holes. The bunkers were more dirt than sand but were soft and easy to hit from. The tee boxes were ok. I found a few places of uneven footing but not enough to be a problem. The greens were on the slow side but smooth and shots held well. The water features on holes 9, 14, & 18 were full and in good shape. Those on holes 1 and 16 were nearly dry.

I really enjoy this course. It has a good variety of holes and while it can be very challenging at times, it never feels intimidating (well, except for # 15- for some reason the tee shot just messes with my head). POP was a little slow at 4.5 hours but we had so much fun it didn’t matter. I highly recommend Glen Ivy and will be back very soon.

Played here for part 2 of our day. Let me start off by saying playing 36 holes in 100 degree heat is a little hard. Anyways we had a 12:00pm tee time on 7/23/19 but staff let us out at 11! We got there early and had lunch. Staff and kitchen staff were all very friendly. Food was delicious and course conditions were great!
Greens- 6/10 most were excellent. There were a few on the front 9 with some dark lines across them looked like some type of chemical which made the greens very hard to read the breaks
Fairways- 9/10 - Green and very little divot damage. A few dry spots on the non shaded holes.
Rough- 8/10- A little challenging but not impossible. Rough was not as green as the fairways and was starting to show signs of summer heat.
Sand- Fluff and raked i will give it an 8/10
Tee Boxes- Level and green, a little spongy in some spots which I actually like. 9/10
Water- Some holes had dry lakes which I really dont like. Hole 1 and I think 15 both were dried up. I love hitting over hazards such as water so when its a dry pond its kinda disappointing. 6/10

Great day but weather was extremely humid. Temperatures were 95-100 and we even got rain!!! Crazy!! But love playing glen Ivy. Always a good round and just challenging enough to humble the honest golfer.

A year ago in June I played Glen Ivy Golf Club for the first time. One year later was my second round and the place has got even better. The new owner has been there for over 2 years now and I highly recommend you go check out the place. Besides the golf course being in great shape, the new driving range is fantastic as well as clubhouse/restaurant renovations. They even added a huge modern banquet room to host weddings, events and big golf tournaments.

Teed it up with GK’ers weber, dconnally and Andrew1 at 6:40am. Played in under 4 hours. Fun time!

Greens in excellent shape, smooth, holding shots, medium/fast and with a beautiful green consistent color. You could throw darts at those pins all day. And the way they were set up yesterday you needed to. They had the front and back pins on the edges guarded by bunkers or on some challenging tiers.

Fairways, beautiful, lush, groomed, providing decent roll out, just a pleasure to play.

Rough, mostly lush, not too long but dense around the greens. Ball always sat down a little, especially greenside making all pitch shots challenging. Also if you came up short on your approach shot to the green no way the ball was going to release on.

Bunkers, a little damp, a little firm but overall in good shape.

Tee Boxes, in good shape however there is not a lot a tee grounds for the four sets and the white or blue tees by far get played the most. So those tees had some divot damage and some needed to be leveled better. The back tees looked fantastic (might play those next time).

Got out early at 6:30 on Wednesday, 6/19/19, to join GK jefe Johnny, GK legend weber, and Andrew1 for a relaxed, fun round. The course ownership is obviously putting resources into the course and facilities – the driving range has been expanded, roofed, speakered, lighted, and otherwise improved; a banquet/meeting room has been added to the clubhouse; carts look new and have a small but high-quality interactive GPS; and course conditions are very good.

Greens looked great, held shots, and rolled consistently at medium+ speeds. We saw very few old ballmarks. Fairways gave good lies, although not rolling out as much as in the past due to improved turf quality and some early-morning dampness today. Rough on fairway margins and around greens makes you pay attention. Past problems with the bunkers here have been addressed and all traps I saw looked to have adequate sand, although some were pretty wet this early.

Tees were mostly level and fine, but some marker placements put you on a slope or restricted your teeing options. Some markers on the back nine had not been replaced after mowing.

Divot mix in bottles on the cart to start, but I didn’t see a refill rack. In general we didn’t see that many unfilled divots. Plenty of water available, and restrooms were clean and nice.

The course uses a Red-White-Blue pin rotation. Because of where they fall in the hole order, all 4 of the par-5s had white flags today, and 3 of the 4 par-3s had blue flags– the course could use some imagination to break up that pattern and provide better variety.

Highly recommended in current condition.

I can say without reservation that the course was I the best condition I have ever seen it. The fairways were simply excellent, some of the nicest I've played on recently. A couple of the tee boxes had the markers set on a slope, but otherwise they were in good shape. Just the overall attention and improvement to the course and facilities are most impressive. Staff was friendly and very accommodating.

Always enjoy playing Glen Ivy. I find the holes to be interesting without being penal. The "flow" of the course is very appealing and while not walkable under any circumstance, this is a course I could play all the time, despite my preference to walk. Fun morning spent on a very nice course, in good condition with great company
