Just moved to town and didn't like this course very much. It is not in very good condition. If you want to play a public course you are better off driving to Mather, or better yet, go to Apple Mountain or Empire Ranch.

I didn't think this course was worth the price. The design was a little boring compared to some I've been to; not much imagination. Some of the bordering areas (e.g.in gullies with thick trees had some junk in them) Not extremely pretty for a golf course.

This is a great course to test your accuracy and club yardage. Leave the driver at home. Many holds are bisected by a creek that makes you hit specfic yardage in front or over. The slight dog legs give you an opportunity to work on shaping your shots. The fairways are shorter but challenging. #8 and #9 are fun due to blind shots and #10 par 3 keeps you coming back due to the downhill shot to a green that is very difficult to stick.

Just played this course on Saturday (6/23) and the course is showing signs of the heat in Sacramento. I will say that the greens are in top shape and are still holding really well. However, if you go in the sand, hopefully someone has been in there before you and has raked the mudd at least once.....I don't know what is so hard about getting some bags of sand and filling up the bunkers!

Since the new management has taken over there have been vast improvements with the course. I used to be a member of the men's club there a few years ago and have played this course extensively. It is nice to see it come in to its own after being very baron for quite a few years. I will say you need to stay in the fairways otherwise you could be hitting of some rock close under the dirt / grass in the rough. Greens are in top shape right now.

Good value and compelling layout. Tee boxes are terrible however.

I am a beginner golfer and have been to this course 5 times. It's not an easy course to me but the price is right and my friends enjoy it.

Severe damage due to heat. greens are nice, except for ball mark damage from inconsiderate players. Pebbles and large stones in mant bunkers. if you're riding the course and not walking, be prepared for a very bumpy ride on most fairways and especially in the rough. This could and probably will be a great track in time.

bass lake is a work in progress. the people who bought it several years ago are spending money to make this a nice daily play course at a great price. the work on this course is starting to really show.

Tough track. Must hit ball straight. No margin for error left or right of most fairways. A couple of greens simply unfair, especially #14. It probably doesn't meet USGA standards.
