Not a county course, privatly owned, with that said, I have lived on this course for 20 years. It has NEVER been in this great shape EVER, I suggest if you live near here you play it NOW. Right now. Not sure how long it will stay this way. Most of the reviews are almost correct, but, I have played Trilogy, and a lot of others lately and LARV is right now in the same class. Its not a hard course, and if you get behind a few slow folks it will be a long day,,,, but for the $$$$ its hard to beat... right now....

A good county course at a fair price. Nice layout, good conditions and good pace of play. I'd play it more if I lived in the area.

GREENS ARE ALRIGHT, BUT MOST HAVE MANY DIVOTS AND HAVE A LITTLE SAND ON THEM. TEE BOXES ARE DECENT TO HORRIBLE. PACE OF PLAY IS HORRIBLE. NOT A COURSE I WOULD PLAY MORE THAN ONCE A YEAR.

Played here Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the twilight time of 2:15 p.m. Checked in with Nito (the starter) who looked liked he'd just played 72 holes straight in Las Vegas, Phoenix and Tucson. In 118+ degree heat.

For a course in the middle of the San Gabriel Valley, this course has it's fair share of hot-headed koram golfers.

The koram guy behind us kept hitting into us. I don't know if he knows golf etiquette or what. d%mn , this guy would claim he didn't know he could hit it 250 yards from the fairway. He swears he only drove the ball 240 yards from the tee and then hit it 250+ right into us. No "fore" or anything.

Friggin idiot. On to the review--

We played South-East courses and while the course was in the best shape in the past 10 years, it still played like crap. Teeboxes were a 6, fairways a 7 and greens a 5. Greens were a 5 due to the fact that nobody repairs their ballmarks there. Check it out for yourself.

Overall, this course is not worth the 30+ dollars to ride after 2 pm. Go spend your money on getting the Spin-milled Vokey wedges. Or go spend it at the Hawaiian Theater (google it) down the street.

Played Sat morning 05/31. We played North/South. There was a tournament going on. Pace was very slow. Time to time we had three groups waiting on a tee. We hope that it will improve in back nine. We were WRONG. We had four groups waiting on the 1st tee at South course. Bit upsetting was they sent out two separate two somes during the peak time. They should join them up. Other than the pace, courses are in OK shape. Fairways are OK, some bare spots. Greens are very good. Very fast on certain greens. Bunkers are OK. This course does have interesting layout. Hilly and dog-legged layouts.
Play during the weekdays. Weekends are just too slow. They also raised the green fees to $52 to ride. Use to be forty something.
It's ok course to play. Give 5.0 GK rating.

Played this course at 10 a.m. April 13th, greens are still recovering from being punched. Very surprised hardly anyone on course finished round in (4) hours remarkable, must have been the heat. North/east course layout played not as tight as I thought careful of doglegs can be in other fairways if long hitter. Fairways in decent shape, sand could use an upgrade, tee boxes decent. Would enjoy playing again once greens have recovered and hopefully pace of play remains at or under 5 hours.

Interesting course. Very different layout to anything I have played in LA County. A lot of hills and elevation changes from tee to fairway to green. Greens were in good shape. Faster than average. Fairways were in good shape. Tee boxes were in good shape. Course was in overall good condition. Golf carts were very nice.

A fun course to play. Keep it straight or you will lose a lot of balls and not score well. Fairways tend to be on the narrower side. Pick your landing areas wisely. Some holes tend to have tricky dog legs and placement areas. All three nine hole layouts were very fun. Very enjoyable if you can play a round that is not over 5 hours.

Played here On Saturday- 2nd off the tee early am. I have not been here in a couple of years and after reading the reviews was a bit concerned. I have to say that the greens are in the best shape I have ever seen them. True and very fast this morning. Im certainly not a greenskeeper for a reason, cause I see they are about to puch them and wonder why??- They were terrific except for a few unrepaired ballmarks( what else is new?) Fairways were average rough non existant sand playable- but wow I really liked the greens this time out- Give it a try if you can get there before they get puched.

HAD A 7AM TEE TIME ON 3/7 BOOKED THE TIME ON GOLFNOW FOR $35 THAT INCLUDES CART ANF RANGE BALLS. I GET TO THE COURSE 45 MINS BEFORE ALL THE TIME TO WARM UP. MY PLAYING PARTNERS DONT WARM UP SO THEY GET TO THE COURSE 15 MIN BEFORE OUR TEE TIME. SO I GET TO THE CLUB HOUSE TO CHECK IN AND T MY RANGE BALLS. THE NUMNUTS BEHIND THE COUNTER TELLS ME I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE OTHER 2 PLAYERS TO GET HERE. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HIM WHY SOME GOLFERS GET TO THE COURSE EARLY... BUT TO NO SUCCESS. MAKES ME WOUNDER WHO HIRES SOME OF THESE GUYS THAT WORK BEHIND THE COUNTER.

After readingthe lastest review, I guess my expectations were too high, particularly after putting on the practice green, which was in fantastic shape. Too bad the greens on the course are not like that! Some of the pin positions were absurd! When there is no grass or little growth, you can't place pins on slopes! Speaking of slopes, the drive on #1 north rolls back almost into the lake, despite the fact the drive almost goes through the fairway up the hill. Now that is just wrong! Course was rather shabby, in every respect, which probably is the reason the green fees are so low. I didn't hate it, just had some issues with condition.

Played the east-north, Sat early time. I live on the south course, havent played here for awhile,, but,, practice green made me try once again to see if they had fixed up the place. What an improvement !!! The greens are super smooth, very lush and very tricky, subtle breaks, best I have seen here in 20 years. fairways are going thru the winter process, see goose creek and most everywhere else right about now. very playable just not as pretty as when it warms up. Bunkers were filled and trimmed, carts are new, clubhouse is the same but excellent service. Front desk guys are beat up [by the customer base] but very friendly, dont know how they do it. I am going to play the heck outa LARV till they mess it up again, maybe they wont. Oh,, the price is terrific, especially during the week, but for $50 on a weekend it isnt bad,, just get an early tee time, very slow on weekends. I like the new entry for hdcp and test of course,, should help on future decisions...

played on christmas - played south-east nines

conditions are just ok right now...the greens would be nice, if people who played this course regularly fixed their ball marks...

fairways, rough, tee boxes, and sand are not that great...lots of bare spots and divots...several tee boxes are not level and mostly dirt

whether its the greenskeepers or the regulars who play here, they gotta take better care of this course...its a fun course, but not when it is not in good shape

Not that you should expect alot from LARV except value, good price for a course in good shape, Thursday, 12/6 had me completely frustrated with the course. Pro shop was nice and charged us twilight rates earlier than we expected, but sent us to the south tee behind one group of 5 women and the another 5some. Women were beginers and each took 5-8 shots to reach the green! Multiple calls to bring out a marshall got us Victor, who must have started the day before. He had no idea that being two holes behind by the third hole was unacceptable. Our foursome took 3 hours to play nine!!! I don't think I would have a problem if the whole course was crowded, but management could have, and always should, solve this problem for the enjoyment of all, but they refused to recognize that they could improve everyone's experience or just didn't have the talent, (balls), to do what was necessary.

Late afternoon tee time, Played South and East courses, The good,, greens are smooth, really green and in good shape, fairways are Ok,, bunkers are also OK. Staff is as always great.Price is good. The bad, the regulars continue to beat the hell out of this place, they must feel entitled as most of them are so called members with monthly dues and feel they do NOT have to repair ballmarks, they must feel they do not have to rake the freaking bunkers and they step over trash instead of picking it up. The footprints in the bunkers match the MAJORITY of the customers that frequent { size 8} LARV. I am sad as LARV has once again lifted the conditions to a high and the regulars are going to tear the crap outa the place. Too bad, ... This place is a cash cow, lots of 5 somes walking. Very bad. Lots of couples, which is a good thing. But, they drive the carts, new carts I might add, anywhere they d%mn please. I suggest if you want to play here do it quick, the REGULARS will have it a shambles soon. I live on the South 9, watch em from time to time,, its a shame the way they treat the place.

Played Monday 10/8 North-South combo - even tho it was Columbus Day they did not charge holiday rate, they gave us an "Aeration Special" - Yes you read that right! $25. Staff was very friendly.

Course is in very good shape, lot of good maintenance work has gone on during the hot spell. Tee boxes are still uneven with lots of divots, fairways were green and rolling good, greens were punched last week on the North 9 and were bumpy and slow. South 9 were punched 3 weeks ago and were almost healed and running fast and true. Unfortunately we got stuck behind a very slow 5some who got 2 holes behind, they were hitting off the blues and should have been on the reds. No marshal came around. Finished in 4.5 hrs.

Played 09/01 - This course is getting better... Even with hot weathers, overall fairways and greens were very good. I use to hate this course but I changed my mind. Keep up the good works and we will come. This course has three nine holes, East, North & South course. They do have very interesting layouts. I give a GK rating of 6.5

I can't make up my mind if I like this course or not?? It was in much better condition than when I last played here in the early 90's; which was good. Some holes are very strange like no. 1 on the north nine. It is not a walker friendly course at all. You have to walk across the parking lot, and many streets in between holes. Maybe I will play in sneakers next time. Or just take a cart and get exercise at another time. The starter was nice but he sent me out as a single and it was up to me to pair myself up with people. I was confused.

Played on Weds 12:30pm for $23 through www.golfnow.com discount. Overall the course is harder than i remember 2 years back. Very hilly and pretty tough greens. Everything was pretty good other than the tee boxes. Few of them were not level. Typical divot damage from regular use. Fairways were pretty good other than a few dry areas. Sand was very nice. Greens were pretty smooth and decently fast. Some of the greens were different though. Some played fast and some played a lot slower. Some were firm and some wernt.

Overall i had a great time and will return

Played on 06/16. I played here last year on a tournament and I hated the course. Last year there were few holes without greens. Other greens were in bad shape. The worst course I ever seen. My playing partner had to convince me serveral times to play here again. I checked the GK feedbacks then decided to give this course a try again. The course did improved a lot compare to last year. Overall course condition is good. Course layout is interesting and good. If someone put more effort to maintaine it, then this will be very good course to visit. Fairways are overall very good. Few bare spots but OK. Found few water pot holes next to one of the geen. Actually I step on one of the pot holes and got my shoe wet. Greens are alright. Speed is normal. Sand bunkers are OK. Pace were bit slow... had to wait to tee off on many holes. Anyhow, we played all 27 holes. I am still not 100% convinced on this course but will definitely try it out. Will definite come back to see whether they will continue to improve this course. I give GK rating 5.5

Surprised I am. Played the North,East, not bad. If one wanted to fix 10 ball marks per green this is the place, too bad as the greens are really nice on these 2 nines. Fairways are Ok, tee boxes and bunkers are OK also. I just cant fathom why the many regulars dont repair the greens. We fixed all the ones in our way to the hole, coulda spent 10 minutes on each green. The North and east 9s are in good to great shape. Hurry, it wont last long. Price is good and staff is always very good. I will do this again, hope they improve some more things, it is nice to see the place in great shape again.

Played East-North combo today. Hard to believe: only 4 hour round for our 4some. They've made some improvements.....new fences, cart path extension, on the North. Good value with click4teetimes discount. Greens were bumpy and slower than I remember. Sand in bunkers softer, better than before. Will be back & hope for another great round.

Played today 5/14 East/North - The tracks were in decent shape. Tee boxes were OK fairly level not too many divots. Fairways were green with some dry spots but ball had decent roll (280 yds downhill on # 4 North, 220 avg). The greens were OK, green with a mix of grasses but have come back from the fungus damage they had. They had also recently been "needled" but were not bumpy, very few ball marks. The bunkers were sandy but wet most were raked except for 2 or 3. Staff at desk has always been friendly with us so can't complain, saw one marshal come around.

They run a skins game on Mondays, so if some of you live close by and want to give them a try, I think you can just enter with a fee and an SCGA Hcp. BTW played SCGA course on Sat in tourney, course was maybe a 6, I would rate RVGC about a 4.5 right now. but worth the $25 fee for starting before 7 AM. Finished in 3.5hr

last note to Kendall. Glad I won't be seeing you on Royal Vista. As far as Goose Creek I have played there b4. Waited over a half hour past my tee time on a very slow play day. Don't remember the divots but I do remember sand traps not being raked.... Maybe it was YOU...

Note to gkrayser,,its fine with me if you cant drive further to play, and its more than OK with me if you disagree with my assesment of the South and North course and what is usually the conditions there. But I do not like you not reading what I said about sand in divots ,, tee box divots and fairway divots. As YOU advised, the carts ALWAYS have sand in the cannisters , thats because all the people that play there dont fill the %$#%%&&& divots on the GROUND with the sand!!!!! I would challenge you to drive around 10 miles to Goose Creek and then tell me LARV is such a dreamy place to play. The best thing about the place is the price. On second thought stay home, the Goose is crowded enough.

After reading Kendall's assessment of this course I was wondering if I was at the same place. I have found that early play between 6:30 and 8 is the best. the starter is more then accomodating. the course is very challenging which leads to slow play especially when fivesomes are back to back, but the course is in "excellent" shape and there isn't a decent golf course around that doesn't experience slow play...
as for divots...and divot mix... the golf cart always are full.. and divot boxes were full too... ball marks are sometimes a problem but a good golfer will fix his and any other he finds... all in all a good and challenging experience.

The pace of play was not too bad until we got stuck with a very slow 5-some. They were obviously holding up many groups. The "players assist" did nothing about it. certain geens and fairways were in poor condition with no one fixing their divots...

Gotta say first off, I live on #5 South fairway, have for 20 years. Havent played here for maybe 2 years, did the South and North today . I will say that the greens were punched recently. This place is a joke. It is always crowded, always , It has a captured crazed, lazy, group of golfers that would play here if it was on fire. They do NOT take care of the course, they pay monthly or yearly dues and somehow think that someone is following them around and fixing and repairing and picking up after them. I watch from my backyard, laugh and promise myself that I wont play here. I did and its worse when you are closer. The price is right, but c'mon its a shame. Mgmt does its best, great folks, but its a cash cow and way too hard to keep up. Wont be back for another 2 years is my guess right now. But they dont need me or anyone else. OK, you want examples, bunkers not raked, tiny footprints everywhere, carts driven up to greenside, muddy greenside, trash on course, no sand found on tee box divots, , no sand in fairway divots, I could go on. But unless its close to free I wont trouble myself.

1/30 - North/South courses. 7AM tee time, 3some played in 3h15m. All the fairways are thick, but dry, some areas had divots that were not filled in. Greens on the North were recently replaced, new sod. They were real fast, most shots did not hold unless they were coming in high, South course, the greens are filling in, some still have bare spots but were filled in with sand and fertilizer. Slow and bumpy. Hole 18 has a temporary green, they were putting in new sod. Tee boxes still uneven, not too many divots. Still not a bad deal for $25 with cart.

Played 1/9 7:30 AM Tee Time, got out @ 7:20, no none waiting only 2 of us. There was a 5some ahead of us, and a 2some in front. 5some was slow, 3guys 2 chicks, they let 2some play through on 3rd hole, let us through on 7th hole.
Overall conditions were fair. North course - all tee boxes were not level, never have been. Fairways were decent not many bald spots, some dry areas, mostly freeze burn, some areas were muddy especially around the greens. Greens were lush from new growth, rolled medium to fast, some ball marks.
South course - Tee boxes uneven, fairways same as on North, some freeze damage, some muddy areas. The greens have not recovered from fungus damage, many bald spots causing bumpy runs. Finished in 3.5 hours. Weather was perfect, $25 green fee with cart made it a bargain.

Played 12/29/06 south/north combination. 2 days ago I rated fairly good. but today playing south course completely changed my mind . HORRIBLE,TERRIBLE & UNFORGIVABLE..........
My backyard is better maintained than this south course. I said south is my favorite of 3 but greens had so many barespots impossible to putt, slow speed & generally in bad shape.
Fairways you experience 2 faces ; soggy, muddy & hard pan dirt barespots. I know last friday of the year is busy everywhere you play but waiting 10minutes to hit each shot made me sick even worse you gotta see 2 guys of group ahead never hit the ball forward,jesus... East course from 4th green to 5th tee box you have to pass parking lot , We just packed our bag in trunk and went out.I never quit the game except nature's forces like heavy rain or palm spring's high temperature but this time I did.

Played 12/27/06 as 2 somes.East & North combination(personally I like South).Rainy day, passing showers come and go.One word to define this course ---INCONSISTENT .Always I see potencial not correctly developed that is just a little bit short of effort & dedication (or maybe money,I don't think so)
Greens getting better tending to nice holding well & smooth rolling with medium/slow speed but 1 temporary green(east 8th) in the middle of fairway(and hole size was big enough) and other 1 or 2 more greens are just like extension of fairways (so long grasses I was to call my gardener to mow to putt)
Tee boxes ;the majority are uneven & beated up.
But o.k. for the money.

Played on 10-29-(Sunday) early AM.. Course in decent shape some mud and rough was fluffy, a playing partner lost about 3 balls in the rough. Played East/North. Finished in about 5 hrs. Decent on a Sunday. Only two bad greens-(1 temporary and one pretty burned up one). Greens were fast and hard breaking. Had a good round, course people were nice, good bargain for a Sunday and finished before noon.

Had a nice Sunday round (North/South) in just under 5 hours. Lots of beginners on the course provided some entertainment while waiting to hit. There's a lot of dead spots on the greens. The staff reports that the September heat caused the damage. Hope they get grass in before the rains turn them into mud.

Played the East/South course on 9/21/06 and I was extremely surprised how good the course plays. It's not great by any means but after reading some of the reviews from the past, I was ready for an average/poor golf course.

The greens were decent and rolled at a medium speed but unfortunately had a lot of ball marks. I wish more golfers would fix their marks. Anyway, the greens had a lot of very subtle breaks and had enough slope to make it interesting. A couple of greens on the south course ( I think 7 & 9) were just terrible due to the recent heat wave but overall the greens were decent. The tee boxes were good but they were working on a couple of them. The fairways were also average with a few thin spots. Pace of play was great (3:45 hrs. for a 7:20 a.m. tee time).

The East course layout is more challenging than the shorter South course. There were some wide open fairways mixed with some very tight fairways to make the round quite challenging. A mixture of several long and short par 4's added some variety. Same goes with the par 3's.

I enjoyed the overall layout and from what I read, the North course is the best of the three courses. I'm going back to the play the North course soon.

WOW !!! What a surprise ! Their conditions came back pretty good. Played sunday 8/6/06 at 6;15 a.m.north & south.Really you can see many & much improvement everywhere especially greens & long time I'm not played south course now gave me joy to play.At north cuz of morning dew I didn't noticed of speed of greens but passing time & getting dry the greens has good speed & smooth rolling. GUYS ! Stay out of roughs ! This rough grass suck your club.

Played 7/20... 27.00 w/cart after 2pm. not a bad price. Played East/North course. Many greens needs some help, some punch holes still showing. Worth the $$, but would be even better if the grns would turn around.

Played East/North combination on 7/9/06. Pace was good. Finished in 4 hours. For some reason, the golf course is not crowded at all on Sunday afternoon (maybe people are watching World Cup Final). Fair in OK conditions, a lot of ground under repair. 5 out of 18 greens are dry, hard and putted like fairway (long grass on the greens). What's up with those greens!!! Some of those greens are in very bad condition as they looked like they are rebuilding those greens. If you want to play this course, be prepared for bad greens on 5 holes. Tee box is overall, in OK shape, some uneven ground, but overall OK. Maybe I will wait for few more weeks for those greens to get in better shape before I go back.

I went june 27 expecting garbage after seeing the rating and others feedback, the slope should be higher, all the greens cept 1 was real good, all the fairways cept 1 was good. The BIG PROBLEM IS THE SAND TRAPS ALL ARE JUNK!!! the course is actually kinda nice. played an early morning round. staff is fair. more people should give it a chance

This course kicked my butt....the slope rating for women of 121 is way too low. Very hilly, lots of blind shots, no roll, greens next to impossible to stick. Course in OK condition but not great. Can't say I'd come back here except for a free round on my birthday.

Played 4/17 , and was very disapointed. Have played b/4 and don't remember it as bad as this. ENTIRE course was completly unmowed, including the greens!! Granted it was a mon. but grass doesn't grow that fast, and the fairways were 3" in some places. Also almost every cup was bashed in, and the traps I saw had foot prints all over. This type of behavior is mainly due to " the course/mangmt. doesn't care so why should I" mentality. With a little tlc this could be a great course, but too many courses making an effort to get my money...Good Luck LARV

Played sunday 4/9/06 east & north combination . Following season they aerated greens & sanded as everywhere .Hit the ball ! Besides at north course they had 2 temporary greens (#1 & #7) rolls faster than regular greens. We were 7 somes in 2 groups one of other group did hole in one at east #6 par 3 with 7 irons. Today's pace of play was rarely good.

Played 1/26 and as usual this course is terrible.
We (a 3 some) played behind a single, who couldn't get by a 4 some, who played behind a 5 some. $25 wasted. Do not play even if you can't find a tee time somewhere else.

Played 1/8/06 reserved tee time at 10;15 but they had a tournament we teed off at 11;10 as usual these kind of 5 somes courses. I think the problem is not let go out as 5 somes. The problem is sell as much as you can marketing. I know nowadays buisiness is tough but depreciating time of clients(or others) trying to earn money is critical. One of the group had a schedule to dinner with his mother in law but passing by the times he knew that going to be late at dinner,he did not enjoyed the round with bad scores by couldn't concentrate on game.Usually I play at 4some courses but when I have 5 some go to county courses or 5 some allowed regular priced courses but almost always encounter with this problem. Even worse I encountered with bad conditions of course.Starting North's 1st green is nightmare and some fairways are wet muddy & plenty of barespots. East's conditions little bit better.

This place is a dump. I have nothing nice to say about this place. Don't even thinking about spending a penny to play here. I agree with the last post that even after playing a free round of golf here you still feel ripped off. I wish they would build some homes over the course.

Not much to brag about...Fairways are crappy with lots of bare spots and dried up mud...Greens are slow and inconsistent...Not much rough around and plenty of dried up sand in the bunkers...The only time I'd play here is when it's free!!!

I got this round for free and overpaid for it. This course is probably the worst in LA. The greens look like they are suffering from acne, rough is non-existent and the dirt (sand) traps are rock solid. In over 5 hours I never saw anybody doing maintainance on the course. Never saw a marshall, never saw a beverage person. Since the course is fairly busy, the owners' strategy seems to spends as little as possible and suck up the green fees.

All of the poor conditions are not the fault of management. The golfers at the course do put any effort in helping keep the conditions from deteriorating. I have never seen sandtraps anywhere else that have footprints throughout their entire area. Nobody seems to fix ballmarks on the greens. The clientele seems to be about 75% Asian.

I played Saturday, Nov 12th. They had a special, 25$ for 9 hole with cart and then Bfast afterwords. First time playing here, I played the south course. It's pretty challenging, nothing is flat, especially the greens. Some greens arent kept up too great, but overall it was a fun challenge.

played the north/east course. conditions were ok, but the greens could have been better. course was fun but challenging. club selection is important here if you want to end up with a decent score. got to play part of the south course (it was on the way back to the clubhouse)....should have booked the south course instead. great time. great price.

Played 10/10 About 11:30am.
Lets first start with the Pro-shop / starter. He had no idea how much to charge us. At first he said $38, when I showed him info I pulled off their own web site showing $26, he then agreed to ONLY charge us senior rate of $27 ????. You gota be kidding me.
Unbelievable, then tells us to play South / East pair. When in fact they had a tourney going on. Was suppose to be S / North pair ???
Greens had not been recovered much from aeration, but I do believe a little water would help. All other aspects of the course were ok for the price. Read between the lines with that statement. Might be a while before we are convinced to over look this and return.

Played 7/8 and it was a total nightmare. When I set up the tee time they did not let me know that there was a members tournament that takes priority over everything else. We had a three o'clock tee time and when we arived there were three groups waiting to tee off. When we finally got to the tee box the starter came out and said we have to go to the south course and tee off because the tournament just made the turn. On the south tee box there were 15 people yet to tee off. Tee time 3...actual tee off 4:15.

Played the North/East combo on 1/17 and the East course held up well in the rains whereas the North course had several mushy fairways due to the recent rains. Overall course is in decent shape but the rough is too long in some spots and some tee boxes are not level. There were also a couple of greens with large arrow-like patterns on them??? I guess they are trying to kill weeds or something??? Many holes have blind approach shots to an elevated green as well.
Course works in a pinch if you just want to get out and hit some balls.

Played sunday 12/12/04 9;37 a,m . Dense fog when we got there at 9;00 but cleared when we got at tee box of north course about 15 minutes of delay than our tee time.A lot of bare spots & grass patches everywhere but considering how busy is this course & rate understandable. After north we head to east course, south seems to be in construction. Overall playable course.

Other than having to drive almost the whole North course to get to the 1st tee of the South,(due to construction) it is a great place to play.Played on Fri 11/26 and got on right away after 1:00P.M. Crowded due to Holiday but the course and greens were in great shape. No complaints except for the detour.Guys in the Pro shop/starter were super nice also.

Technically a tough course due to the layout. All greens were either elevated or severely protected by bunkers in front of the greens. Tee boxes were beat to hell and most of them were not flat. Greens were hard but speed was good but very bumpy as well. Nice course layout-wise as there are alot of different types of holes which add to the challenge. There are large trees lining the fairways. Finished in 4.5 hours and starter let us out 20 mins earlier than our tee time which was a plus. Even though there are many things wrong with this course I was able to get a tee time 2 hours b4 I teed off and also at a 20% discount from the 2some we teed off with. I would play again in spite of the condition of the course but more due to the convenience of getting a tee time.

Played 5/19. 8:15 tee time checked in and started at 7:45 and was given their $23.00 w/ cart deal. No on course delays for my 2some, finished in 4 1/4 hrs. Some greens still showed signs of recent aeration on N/S courses. Faiways full but soggy from recent rain or watering. Some pretty muddy spots in places.

Need to remind all players to rake the traps, problem not just here, but on most San Gabriel Valley area public courses. ( Diamond Bar, Fullerton, La Mirada, Etc.)

Reservations here are a joke. I have played here twice in three weeks both on weekends. We did not get started until at least 45 minutes past our tee time. All they kept saying is we are going to call you. And dont let me start telling you about the 6 hour round because of the mens club tourney and how two groups fall behind 4 holes and the marshall won't say anything because they are all buddies. Play any other course in the area unless you like waiting past your tee time, wait for hacks to line up their 2 foot put for triple boogie, and deal with rude people.Simply a joke.

I played on Saturday 2/28 after the heavy rains and the course was still muddy in some areas. I expected that, what I didn't expect was the mandatory carts before noon. Service was terrible, I had a 10:45 reservation and we tee'd off at 11:30 but the clerk kept on telling us we were going to be called in the next 10 minutes. I was not told about the mandatory carts when I made the reservation. Fairways were thin and full or divots, landed on divots on and off the fairway. The south course 5th hole lacked much needed grass in the fairways. Pace was 5 hours and could've been longer if the group ahead of us hadn't quit.
Was it worth the money, maybe in the weekday with their specials but not at 48 dollars for a five hour round

The course was playing great, with only 1 temp green on the East course. The only sand trap I hit into was more like dirt than sand.Fairways were semi hard/thin and you got a lot of roll.Greens were tricky with lots of contours, but you could stop your ball with a high shot into them.Get there early as the tend to run out of carts. At $29 on a weekend after 12:00 it's a good deal.Expect a long day though as I barely finished in 5 + hrs....but hey ....it's L.A,so I'm used to it.Course was fun .The 14th tee box was super soft (Flooded ?) but other than that the course was great.Would play again.

this is a fun track to play. pace of play is normally very slow, especially on weekends. fairways were a little thin but still very playable. greens here always receive shats well. 27 hole layout makes it a different course wvery time you play. in my opinion a little overpriced for the condition.

what a surprise,I live on the south nine, dont play here much for many reasons, conditions,,present players dont repair ball marks, dont use sand in divots, think they are too good for such things,, but, played south /north today, what a pleasant surprise, greens were fast and fun, fairways were in good shape, front desk saved us a couple of $$ and we were very appreciative, very nice all around. we will play here more often, we did spend the day repairing ball marks, must be a far eastern thing, bending over to repair, or maybe thinking too good to do such things or,, who knows,, course is in good shape,, heard that there will be a couple of greens under repair as time gos by,,worth the $$ good deals,, fun place,, we will see how long it lasts,,,,

Sat. walk-on as single, started just before noon and pace good enough to complete South/East combo. Greens in superb condition, lush, smooth esp. on South. Elevation changes off tee, some tight fairways, a good challenge, but can score well after learning layout. O/B where homes line one side of fairways. $34 w/ c on W/E = Very good value

A course that winds around the main streets
of the Walnut/Diamond Bar area. Vehicle noise, young drivers with radios blaring detract from the experience. The course itself has undulating fairways and hills. Slow pace, especially on the weekend. My round was 5.5 hours for a foursome with a cart.
