1 to 2 clubs up on cold mornings, same on windy afternoons. A few narrow fairways. Nice 100yd 3 par over water with sloping downhill green. Water comes into play afew times. Cold in the winter, beautiful in spring and summer. Want to catch one of those yellow chested birds. The course is improving and so is my game, helps with my confidence, challenging yet fun. Great friendly staff...

What can I say this is my home course... Agusta it is not, a nice friendly spot to play golf and meet others as myself it is. The staff is great and always greet me by my name, and as for the condition of the course it has only improved with Steve the grounds keeper (way to go Steve!!). I must admit I hope no one finds out about this course because I love the idea of not waiting.

Well, if I were a golf course judge, I'd definitely give the "Most Improved" award to this track. My hat is off to the staff and management. This nice little nine-hole is fun to play, and it will bite you if you try to overpower it. Five of the holes are bordered by out-of-bounds stakes, and six of the holes have water hazards, so if you get careless you will pay the price. Oh, I should add that there is a little creek (?) that meanders through most of the course, and it will inhale those pesky worm-burners and pop-ups, as well as an incorrect club selection off of the tee on #7. You can take as much club as you dare off of the par 4 holes, plus the lone par 5, but I would think twice before you pull a driver out of the bag. The greens are hard, fast, undulating, and often have a pretty good slope from back to front. If the pace allows, I always walk all the way around my ball to pick up any subtle undulations. The green on #6 had some root damage from the nearby cottonwoods (which had to be cut down), but the regulars say that they are getting it back into playing shape. All of the other greens look good. I can't end this review without mentioning the wind. When it blows here...and it often does...pull the reins in and focus on being accurate off of the tee. Good luck!

Rancho Sierra, a short 9 hole course in the east side of Lancaster is an oasis for a starting golfer or if anyone is strugling a bit from distance off the tee. This is one of the courses that we learned to play golf from and played it many times over. After 7 years of not being there, we have noticed many improvements. The teeing grounds are well kept, the fairways are cut short and the rroughs are not that tough. The greens are a little slower than I remembered it to be. But overall, the small course is a fun place to enjoy a light golfing day.

Shirley, the the facility manager is still there after all these years. It was a trip for her to say, "Hey it's been a long time since you've been here, How have you been?" I never would have thought anyone would have remembered us.... and the chili dog still hits the spot!

Not a country club atmosphere - a folksy and fun place to play. Friendly staff, great clubhouse, and Shirley's chili is the best this side of Texas.
