Played 1-29-26 on a cold early morning walking as a single in a little over 2 1/2 hours. Tee boxes were not in the best of shape with some bare and thin spots, some divot damage on par threes and a few of the other holes and some needing a bit of leveling. Fairways were nice. They had decent roll out with nice lies, with some very minor blemishes on a few. Rough was in good shape, about an inch longer than fairways and easy to hit from. Was in a couple of greenside bunkers that were well groomed with a good layer of white sand. Greens as almost always were in great shape. They were rolling smooth and true at medium/fast pace and playing a little on the soft side. Overall course is in good winter condition and well worth playing. Highly recommend.

Accepted a gracious invite from dconnally to play nine holes here this afternoon along with TomHooter. We played Course 1, which fittingly begins right below the clubhouse next to the practice putting green. Our time wasn’t until 3:24 but we teed off maybe 8-10 minutes early. Despite waiting on the group in front of us pretty much all afternoon, pace was pretty good and we finished nine in about two hours flat, with just enough sunlight. There was no one behind us, but maybe one or two more groups could’ve finished if there had been.

Conditions are very nice! White tee boxes were all great, no issues. Fairways had uniform coverage of healthy green turf, providing nice lies. The rough also has good coverage and is 2-3 inches in most areas but deeper in a few rare spots. I was in a couple bunkers and they were in good condition with more sand than it felt like there was, if that makes sense. The greens were mostly smooth, medium to medium-fast speed, and very accepting of well-struck shots. As you might expect so late in the day, there were quite a few unfixed ball marks, but nothing terrible.

Course 1 is the longest of the three nines and is comprised of three par 3s, three par 4s, and three par 5s. From the white tees, the par 3s could use more variety in distance, but otherwise no complaints. The par 4s and 5s on this nine are very nice with a good mix of elevation changes and doglegs. I liked it quite a bit! Great times with David and Tom! Thank you for the invitation, David.

Conditions much improved from my last visit. Still some soggy areas but rough has been mowed but still thick and the fairways have dried out. Greens are fast, receive well struck shots well and the traps are nearly perfect.

Disclaimer: I only play twice a year these days. On my birthday and a yearly tournament in May. This was my birthday round. Played on January 28th. 8:30 a.m. starting time. It's not exactly golf I'm playing. It's more like a game of "Whack F***!" ... if you know what I mean! Paid $172.00 including golf cart.

We played the Valley Course. Pace of play was perfect... as was the weather. Nobody in front of us. No pressure from the foursome behind us.

Tee boxes level and actually the best part of the course. Lush and level. We played the white tees. Highly recommended for duffers like me.

There's not a level lie anywhere on the course. Undulating fairways. I'm glad that they are wide and forgiving. The fairway grass is... well... it's thin. And the ground is hard. Not quite "hardpan" but pretty close. Some areas better than others... but overall... I much prefer lush green grass.

Similar situation on the greens. Hard as a pool table top. No need to fix ball marks. Your ball won't make one! Super fast downhill. And like a roller coaster. Easy to read. Hard to putt.

Great customer service. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Worth the fee? I guess. Golf in this area has gotten so expensive!

Keep it in the short grass!

1-29-26 10:45. First this course is NOT private. Update please, as this course is a blast. I skipped this place for years reading private. First impression looking from the parking lot not exciting. Pleasant surprise once in the pro shop looking down at the course! From the bar resturante you can view 3 tees and another 3 greens with ease. Very comfortable outdoor covered patio for drinks and food service. The greens keepers have this course in very nice country club like condition. Fairways nearly always serving up tasty lies, rough is treelined with the leaves forcing me to abandon 2 balls and just drop. Creeks running all through the property will force shot play. Greens in excellent condition. Extremely very fast running with almost unfair slope. The dance floors robbed me of (4) normally gettable pars! Very nice Yamaha carts no GPS. This course has some holes that play blind so a GPS cart tracking system would'nt hurt here. Wide concrete cart paths in decent condition. Tees in acceptable condition, thin in areas most level. Very fun, challenging, and beautiful 18. Old guy mid week rate is a bargin. Small short yardage range near first Tee. Thanks to all staff for their professionalism, especially the starter Mauro. Think I'm returning next week again to try and better my number. Highly recommend Canyon Crest!

Played Thursday 1/29 early tee time. With a weak fog lingering on the front yielding to sunny skies as we turned. POP 4:10 riding. Seasonal fog kept the 40 degree temps around and layering was important. $53 with cart joining a long established weekly group of seniors I had played with a few years back. Listed M-Th $61

Course was damp with morning dew. Through the green damp not many if any muddy areas a few clumps. Long time wet areas (like approach on #1) drainage added this winter. Some of the briar patches also addressed this winter. Notably right side of 7. Still shots out of the ample corridors are goners. Tee boxes good all flat with #7 white redone and grown out just needing to be mowed. Without leaves on the mature trees hard to tell but I think some work on those as well to allow more sunlight. Seems more open summer will tell.

Greens good in-line with rates. A bit slower and a few ball marks as expected at this public course privately owned. Fairways in winter condition. The bunkers are variable I was in one greenside which was fine.Fairway bunker on LS 18 was being worked on and unmarked but we played it as obvious GUR. Others appeared fine, but my partners commented not enough sand.

Dig deeper into other reviews for details if you need more. Final word the consistency of conditions from year to year and season to season is what stands out to me. Recommend.

Played AB-North Tuesday, January 27, in the weekly Men’s Club Event…first time since September…and it may be at least that long before I choose to do so again. Nothing wrong with the course conditions…in fact, they’re pretty solid right now…but the pace-of-play was excruciatingly SLOW.

Our original tee time was 11:15AM but a frost delay pushed us back to 12:10PM. We moved through the first three holes without any issue but then ran into a ten minute delay on the Par-4 4th tee, which seems to happen quite often.

Things were fine until we reached the Par-3 7th, where we spent another 15-20 minutes standing around until the two groups ahead of us had finished the hole. Got ready to hit my tee shot and felt as if I just stepped out of the car to begin the round all over again. After another brief wait on the Par-3 9th, we checked in with a front nine that took in excess of two-and-a-half hours to play.

Things opened up a bit midway through the back nine but it wasn’t until 5:05PM when we walked off the 18th green. There were still three other teams behind us that just managed to finish their rounds in ‘daylight’.

Moving on to the course itself, no complaints in that regard. Tee boxes were in good shape and level, fairways healthy with full coverage, the rough…as always…is to be avoided, and the greens rolled fairly smooth at a medium pace. Not too many unrepaired ball marks to attend to but definitely a few more than my last round here. And most likely due to the frost, a couple of approach shots rolled out a little more than expected but, overall, they were pretty consistent. The two traps I was in…one fairway, one green-side…were raked smooth and on the firm side, which I prefer; I’ve always been a fan when it comes to their playability.

Highly recommend playing here…especially if you’re someone with a preference to walk rather than ride…but I do advise you to avoid a late Tuesday AM tee time on those weeks when the Men’s Club in scheduled on the North Course. I’ve played here on other days during the week with a similar tee time and have yet to come close to taking five hours to complete the round.

Played here on 1/28 at 9:15, didn't get off for about 15-20 minutes after and we played as 5 singles. Pace of play is atrocious at Los Lagos because you start with two par 5's, a par 3 on the 4th and a long par 3 with water on the 8th. It typically takes me 3 hours just to play the front 9, back 9 is a little better but you're still typically waiting at every tee box.

Conditions are typically pretty good for the price but there are some consistent issues with some tee boxes and some area that seem to never recover whether it's from the rain or high traffic areas.

The staff are usually pretty good but they really need to do a better job and keeping the pace of play moving. I feel like they cater extra hard to their members and let them play as slow as they want, and most of them are all high handicaps who should be playing from the forward tees or even further up. They also have a local senior discount where they can get on for super cheap which also hurts the pace of play.

I really wish they would spread out tee times a bit and maybe not take walk ups and try to fit them in, but I guess until enough people point it out to them, they'll just keep pocketing the money without caring about the enjoyment of their customers.

On a good note, their restaurant staff is awesome, the food is simple but solid for a pretty good price and is always out quick. My only issue with the F&B is that I believe the restaurant closes kind of early.

I play here a lot because of the convenience and I'm able to walk and book on Golf Now and as a walker, but its getting increasingly difficult to enjoy my time when I book a time at 9 and am not done playing until 3ish

Hard to believe no reviews for this course since October. I played yesterday, January 28, around 7:00 am. Almost exactly 4 hours POP with three riders (one was 80 years old) and I was walking. The place was busy but the service as always was great (shoutout to Patrick for smooth and professional processing of the busy morning crowd).

The course is in nice shape right now. The fairways are green with pretty consistent coverage. The rough is mainly cut down although there are a few areas where they have allowed it to grow and is an almost automatic lost ball - the lower part of the hill to the left of the second green and the top of the slope on 13 are two examples. The clover is up in some areas between holes also, making finding balls difficult. Tee boxes were nice. Enough sand in the bunkers.

The greens are outstanding and lightening fast. They are actually slowed down a little from what they were two weeks ago and a little softer but still plenty quick. On the par 3 5th green, the hole was placed at the top of the slope on the back left side. Borderline unfair considering the speed - we had a couple of balls roll back down several feet after almost stopping near the hole and one guy had an 8' comebacker after missing his 3' par putt. Otherwise, the greens were a solid test.

The course is not without its blemishes but it is in far better condition than it was in the summer and early fall.

Early afternoon tee time 4.5 hour round. The rates have continued to increase since JC took over management of this course. The parking lot has some of the smallest spots I've dealt with at any course ever so beware. The carts all have decent GPS but ours shut down on us while driving down the cart path?? The tee boxes were a little shaggy with good coverage and limited divot damage. The rough doesn't really come in to play since there is very little of it to find. Many forced carries from start to finish with thick stuff off the fairways. The fairways were mostly tight fairly dry bermuda. You will encounter sections of other types of grass mostly around the greens. The dry fairways provided great roll if you could keep the ball in them. Many of the holes slope from left to right so shot placement is critical. The middle of the fairways roll so much that a shot there can easily end up in the rough or out of bounds. The traps ranged from hard packed dirt/sand to thick damp stuff around the greens. The greens are fairly large but can be hard to read for some. The quickness of them slowed as the round progressed into the late afternoon. The layout is challenging and can be frustrating for those who haven't played here before. The weekday afternoon rates are reasonable but the morning rack rates are a little steep. This area of Northern SD County doesn't have a lot to choose from in the way of courses anymore and most have increased their rates because of this.

Had a few hours to kill in the High Desert so decided to play Green Tree. The pace of play was amazing. 5 hours for 36 holes. Green fees were very reasonable, $42 for Monday morning with a $18 replay rate for second 18. The course was empty and I felt like I had the course to myself.

The tee boxes were mostly level and always had a good level area to tee off from. Fairways weren't the greenest but mostly had good lies. I don't know if it was the lack of play, but greens were very smooth. Bunkers were horrible. Greenside bunkers were so hard that 3 of 5 shots I hit into the bunker just rolled out to the fringe. Two shots that actually ended up in the bunker had to be played like hitting on the cart path.

The staff was friendly, especially the marshall Dino who noticed I'm not a local and haven't played the course before gave me some tips before teeing off.

It was a Monday... but when I got done and signed for returning the cart, I saw there were only 11 carts signed out for the whole day. Hopefully City of Victorville will keep the golf course. They just completed a nice club house and apparently, decided to open a library instead of a full-service restaurant.

Played ANGC with a late-morning tee time. The course was again in good condition and with a solid green look to it. No dry out or dirt spots observed, conditions are rated a 4.47 out of 5 overall. I note the following:

Tee Boxes: Level and lush, no damage. Above average.
Fairways: Green and tight, no damage. Above average.
Greens: Green, firm, and fast, no damage. 11ish in speed. Above average.
Sand: Well maintained and packed. Above average.
Rough and Waste Areas: Well maintained and defined. Above average.
Driving Range: Off grass that was thin. Average.
POP: 4 hours and 30 minutes; waited for the group ahead of us on numerous holes.

As previously reviewed, this course is a desert layout that requires control off the tee and into greens. Greens roll fast but hold good shots. ANGC is an excellent layout that can be enjoyed by any reasonably consistent golfer. I recommend this course, especially if a discounted rate is found.

ANGC is a solid player's layout. Recommended if you have the game for the course and don't mind paying $100+ for a round of golf. I believe at $100 - $120 it is totally worth it if you have good playing conditions and proper pace of play... I again endorse this ANGC.
