Tees - always found a level spot but mostly dormant grass
Fairways - green in most spots, but starting to get brown and bare spots on several holes, also quite a few divid marks.
Rough - mostly 1 1/2" grass between adjacent fairways, affected distance
Bunkers - nothing changed, hard wet thin sand
Greens - receptive always a ball mark to fix, were a little slow , over watered because of the expected heat

Rough - first 6 feet 1 1/4", not penal, farther off fairway get combination of weeds, grass and bare spots.
Bunkers - very heavy sand, always wet.
Greens - receptive, always a ball mark to fix, rolled true.

Nice to get back out to Mile Square, in truth it's nice to get back out to any golf course. Not a lot to add to Chevelle's review. Course is in as expected, very nice condition, although I would like the greens to be a little quicker.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. As Chevelle stated, playing without the mask requirement is a huge factor in deciding where to play, at least for me.

Played here on 5/4. First day where carts were being used. Course was busy, but pace was good, finished in 4 hours. Only waited on the 16th hole. They are spacing groups 10 minutes apart. 1 person... Continue »

Played here on 5/4. First day where carts were being used. Course was busy, but pace was good, finished in 4 hours. Only waited on the 16th hole. They are spacing groups 10 minutes apart. 1 person per cart, additional $15 to walking rate.

Course is in very good condition. Some rough were thick, so it did take a little looking to find your ball. Sand was decent. Greens were the nicest I have seen them. Rolled true and were med-fast.

One thing to note. All tee times are online and non-refundable. So no cancellation at this time per pro shop. So no show and you still have to pay, even with a 24 hour notice.

Played may 5, 1st round in 7 weeks. We were a walking 2 some and my friend paid on line so all we had to do was go to the starter shack and check in. Parking lot is open access, got there 35 minutes before tee time and no issue. Club house area felt weird. Masks required inside club house but not outside, benches ropped off. Driving range open but not the putting greens, outside bathroom open. All bathrooms open on course. Course is in great condition. We had no issue with flag in. They came up with some kind of insert for the cup so the ball only drops about an inch. It did affect 1 putt and it bounced out. It was very hot and I golfed here because you did not have to wear masks on the course and that is why I won't play riverside or San Bernardino yet, no way walking in heat and mask. If you did have to wear masks, I would just wait. The course was very busy, POP was 337 so not bad but we did wait on most holes. It will just be the 2 of us for awhile as all of our other buddies are still afraid to get out. Don't understand it....

Played 5/2 at 10 am. POP 4:10.

The course is in very good to great shape all around outside of very inconsistent bunkers.

Greens were smooth and rolled true at medium/slow pace.

Fairways were very healthy outside of a few spots on 2/3 holes which were sand on dirt.

Rough was not too long but it was very thick and could be tricky to hit out of.

Tee boxes were all great.

It was a good first trip to MS, had heard good things about the players course and though it was interesting layout and a good test of golf for what must have been a very flat piece of land.

Played this morning and noticed that the course was extremely busy arriving 1 hour before our tee time. I think it was due to the great weather, started out cold but warmed up as the day went by. The best part of the course were the greens and the sand traps. Greens rolled true but were fast. Green side sand traps had a good amount of fluffy sand. I unfortunately landed in several of them. Fairways and roughs were okay as there were some thin spots. The only complaint I have is that they do not allow you pay and check in until 10-15 minutes before your tee time. Went to check in 15 minute before tee time and it was crowded inside didn't get to pay until almost 5 minutes before tee time. A 5some tried to sneak in before us saying their tee time was before us, but luckily the starter was wise to their game and put them back in their respective tee time. POP 4 1/2 hours. They have a map of what the new course will look like after the remodel to an 18 hole. Looks like most of the Classic Course will be retained with some of the Players Course holes. If it's busy now I would hate to see what happens when it goes down to 18 holes.

I played today with my friends Ed and Christal and we were joined by another single. Check in was fast and after putting a bit on one of the three practice greens, we teed off on time at 9:15 am. There was no one in front of or behind us. With a very relaxed pace, we finished in exactly 4 hours. Conditions were good. The fairways had some patchwork areas of different grasses and a few thin spots, but over all had good coverage and none of us found any bad lies. I was surprised that the fairways were completely dry. I was expecting at least a few mud puddles after all of the recent rain. Hole 10 was CPO with signs of recent punching. The rough was about 1-3 inches and littered with a lot of tree debris. But, it was neatly trimmed and very easy to chip out of, particularly around the greens. The tee boxes also had some debris but were level and in good shape. The bunkers were very inconsistent. On the front there was a good amount of soft sand. On the back there was just mud. The greens were very nice. They were soft, smooth and rolled medium speed. There were plenty of uphill putts that required considerably more speed to reach the cup. We all had too many lip outs but I finished with 32 putts so no complaints. This course is fun. There is plenty of water and even the forward tees are a challenging length for me. All went well today and I am thrilled with a 98. I hope I can play here a few more times before it’s gone.

Played Tues Nov 12th at 7am, been a few months since I played here. We were a walking 4 some out at 7am and great POP at 326. Breakfast good as usual, they are starting to do construction around the putting greens for when they cut down to 18 holes. They confirmed by 3rd quarter 2020 they will be a 18 holes course. It is really too bad as I like both these courses. We heard rumors what holes they are going to keep, 4 from players and 14 from classic but I can't get my head arond the configuration. We all use watches so i wonder how long it will take garmin and such to update the course. The course conditions were good, it is winter and everything was very wet, level tee hoxes, fairways good shape, greens receptive and left ball marks to repair, traps were a little thin. We play both courses allot and going down to one will make it more difficult to get a tee time.
