86 degrees on December 10? Where is everybody? $56.00 small bucket and Green fees ( nice new Yamaha cart included). Small but adequate on matt range. Putting green? didn't bother, was scared I might contact something. Booked on line but really not necessary, hit my warmup balls and checked in with Kieth at pro shop. Played by myself up to 13. I now understand why the place is deserted. Nearly all the Greens look to be healing from a grass disease. To be fair I believe the management is addressing the issue. Looks to me like even the "fixed" ball repairs are not healing. Fairways are tight. as in thin grass/grasses...a real patch work of stuff! Not much rough to speak of as fairways are close to tree line. Sand traps positioned well but thin on sand and firm below. adjusted my normal technique to just playing my 52 and chipping out. Finished the round in 4:20. The facility seems under funded and understaffed. Thanx for the chin up attatude from Tony, manager Mike in the snack bar and Mike the greenskeeper. I'll wait for a better report on course conditions before returning. Out.

Played on 12/10 in 80 degree weather. The course is in really good condition after the November rain and warm sunny days. The fairways we're in really good condition except for all the unfilled divots. As usual the greens were nice, they were pretty firm and fast. Overall a good experience.

Have you ever had the perfect combination of lush/fast/smooth/soft greens?

That’s what we got to experience on Monday 12/8 at Sunset Hills CC to go along with beautifully manicured lush course. I booked 3 events at Sunset Hills CC in 2025 and I’m booking three more for 2026. From a golf organizer’s perspective, the only negative about the facilities is its lack of a full driving range instead of its small, short irons only hitting station. But Sunset Hills CC short immaculately kept challenging regulation course, exceptional staff, fun bar/restaurant more than make up for it.

This is a family fun club with ZERO snobby-ness. So welcoming of our group I had a couple Sunset Hills CC members come up to our Vivid Golf Check-In tent to say hi and ask about our events.

It was a great day playing with rgm2525, GDR23 and barkydog1. Make sure you read their detailed reviews and check out the photos posted.

Played today. The warm weather has really helped the course. And you can see and hear the maintenance that has taken place. The tee boxes all mowed and clean no issues. Fairways have dried out (some have a few problem spots) and are starting to provide rollout but they are not lush so lies are not always good. Traps with new sand excellent. Those without not so much. Greens are really firming up. Lots of less divot damage and people are fixing them. All of them had good speed when chipping and putting. Great customer service as always. Played a round yesterday with Johnny, Gary and Ron at a GK event. Very windy conditions, but the golf course was immaculate, with probably the best greens I've ever played--VERY fast, yet super receptive. The staff was very courteous and helpful, the hot dogs at the turn were great, and the company was awesome! A very fun round at a beautiful golf course.

Rode the blacks this morning 12/8/25. Part of group 1B with buddies John, Ron and Matt in blustery wind conditions pretty steady 2 club + swirling wind with beautiful temps around 80 degrees. Pop about 5 hrs which isnt horrible for 120 player event.

This is the nicest that I have seen Sunset Hills.

Beautiful maybe 12 on the stimp fast pure greens cut tight and rolling like glass. They held irons well which was the perfect combo. Some small greens here at Sunset so your short game must be on. Rated 9.5/10 and highlight of the course.

Fairways were very lush, beautiful with a thicker kikuya base. Not much roll out but all the rains we had make this place look fabulous. Rated 9/10

Rough was thick kikuya in great shape. Tricky to chip out of but no unfair lies. Rated 9/10

Most black tees were level and lush and in good shape. Rated 8/10

Was in gresnside bunker on 11 which had a nice base to hit out of. Most green complexes here are surrounded with great bunkering.

Very tight smaller course that puts a premium on working the ball both ways through narrow treeline passages. Once in the fairway you have to have excellent distance control with short to mid irons.

If u have not had the opportunity to play here jump on it. Highly recommended.

Couldn't ask for better weather today out in Soboba, high was about 73 degrees. Played in a tournament with about 50 players, also there was other tournaments going on so the course made it a 8:30am shotgun start for everyone. 6 hour round, brutal. BUT the course was in amazing shape from tee box to green, fairways had lots of roll out too. Greens were rolling true and fast. Lots of fun holes with unique challenges. Staff was nice all around.

Go play this course soon if you are thinking about it.

Played Woodley yesterday 12/4 with a 12:20 start, riding with another single joining a walking twosome. We all played the whites. To the point, the course is in good all around shape, with exceptions. The recent rains have given it some greening up and, fortunately, I saw no remaining indications that that the course resides in a flood basin. Although there can be thinner spots beneath the green on the fairways, they are generally pretty good. Teeing grounds here are always good, bunkers were reasonably clean and no complaints abut the sand. Rough here is rarely an issue and very playable while the greens and complexes were mostly in good playing shape with the greens running a nice medium — mostly. The exceptions are greens 8, 14 and 16 which were all sanded. Not mentioned at the course or in the most recent GK post, we were all a little surprised when we arrived on these greens. They all have at least a little elevation to them so you don't know before you actual arrive at the green. They ran obviously slower than the other greens but were playable. If you aren't too fussy, I wouldn't let it dissuade you from playing here as the overall course and majority of greens are fine. If you are that fussy, I'm not sure why you are at Woodley, but now you know before you go. Give them a week.

The weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect day to be out on the course. The kind of day that makes you grateful you are in SoCal in December. Some breeze came up mid round but didn't last. Pace was very good and we got around in 4.25 hours with plenty of light right before sunset. No regrets.

Out early on a rather cool autumn morning. Not too crowded, perhaps due to the lower temperatures? North Course is looking good. Greens rolling true with decent pace, good coverage in the fairways. Bunkers and tee boxes are well maintained. Looking forward to condition even getting better, which should provide for some great Holiday golfing experiences

Loved Aliso Viejo CC! I was very pleased by the conditions of the course; they were exactly what I hoped for from a private club. Everything was good from tee to green, and the facilities were good, as well. They do lack a driving range (just have a hitting net), but they have a couple putting greens, and a chipping green with bunker. The layout of the course is good, as well; it’s a Jack Nicklaus design. Definitely give this place a try, if you can.

Played Seven Hills a month ago and than again today. Course has improved a lot. Fairways very playable, and greens in best shape I have seen there in years. Old style flat course, has tee box's (gold) short enough for women and distance challenged golfer's to score and enjoy. Most greens fairly small and bunkers around greens in good shape. A really good course for the mid handicapper that would like to break 80 for a change. May not be the best choice for the 300 yard hitter, you will wait a lot. Always enjoy this very scorable course and right now in good shape for the price. (Week day $47with cart).
