Played 9-17-26 early morning walking as a threesome with a little waiting on groups in front of use, and finishing in around 3 hours and 45 minutes. Tee boxes were in good condition, mostly level with good coverage. Fairways were mostly in good shape with some of them having some small repaired areas that have not quite filled in yet. Rough was lush and thick at about 2-3 inches on most holes. Was in two greenside bunkers that had a good layer of nice brown sand and were well groomed. Greens were in good shape, rolling at a medium pace and mostly smooth, they were playing on the soft side so balls with spin were really zipping back. I know they are punching in a couple of weeks, so nows the time to get out there.

I was looking forward to playing the new golf course. As a guest I was very disappointed in the condition it is in. Where did the 20+ million dollars go in 1 year. They only have 18 holes. I guess 9 holes are in such bad shape they closed it. The GM Tyson needs to be fired. They are asking 60K to join. No way it’s worth that. The overpriced food and 10 dollars for a beer. Sorry I won’t be joining this private club called Mulholland hills. Also every green has a disease.

Played my usual weekly walking round today on a very cool morning. Fall has arrived here.

But with the cooler weather the course was drier and somewhat more firm in the fairways.

Tee boxes all good.

Traps all clean and playable no issues.

Fairways good coverage lies and decent roll for so early in the AM.

Little rough around the whole course but there are two decent water hazards on the front you have to be careful with. And some good sized trees.

Greens were all clean and playable and played just fine all round.

As I said before $18 to walk is a great deal to play golf even if it is a shorter course.

Par 67 6 par 3's, 11 par 4's 1 Par 5

Play day: September 19, 8:00.
They’ve had problems with their mowers for a while and haven’t had been mowing the roughs. While it’s patchy, they are 10-12 inch thick- almost guaranteeing a lost ball.
Greens ran slow- 8 at best.
Not a good time for a visit here for now.

Greens in respectable condition. Most of the fairway is in decent condition. They pack the tee times pretty tight!!!! POP = 4:43!!! Staff is extremely friendly. Korean cook makes decent hot meals....even if it's Americanized....still satisfying! (Like everyone's grandma...super nice) I normally don't play this course, but I was glad I did!

Played 48 last Friday and 18 on Saturday in the GK/Vivid outing with 108 temperature on Friday and cooling down to a nice 102 on Saturday. Tee boxes were all level and lush with very minor divot damage on par threes. Fairways were all in very nice condition with some minor bare spots on 2. They all provided great lies with decent roll out. Rough was playing 2-3 inches and thick with the ball sitting down in the healthy Bermuda. Was in a few fairway and green side bunkers over the rounds and found them all to be in great shape with a good layer of sand. Greens were in really good condition, rolling a little on the slow side, playing semi-soft and rolling mostly smooth. Great place for a golf getaway. Highly recommend.

Played Canyon for the first time in several months. 3H POP. Have never seen the rough this lush or this deep after recent rains. You can lose a ball when it sits down barely off the fairway. Advancing it a decent distance isn't happening for most golfers when it sits down in the thick Bermuda. Greens are very smooth, firm and medium fast. Fairways/Tees very nice with the Bermuda out in full force with warmer temps. Greenside traps really nice, fairway traps thinner and more hard packed. Fringes higher than normal, which really affects chips. Range, carts, GPS excellent. Restaurant/men's lounge provides decent food in a friendly atmosphere. Cart guys are always good here. Highly recommended.

Well I could not leave w/o playing this little gem of an executive course just down the street from Valley of the Moon.

Short course W 4293 Y 4068

No par 5's. 9 par 3's 9 par 4's. And the par 3's IMO are the fun part of this course given their various lengths.

Very walkable course and one of the better executive courses I have played.

Probably should call it a short course vs executive course.

This course was a little more dried out when I got there so fairways played great with roll lies and condition.

Traps playable.

Greens are small and well protected so good iron play is a premium. But they were in great shape and played great.

I felt the homes were a little more close on this course than the Moon. Not much trouble as well on this course either.

Just a fun little track to play.

I can see this course being a joy to play in the warm summer nights when one wants a real quick 18 to keep the game in shape.

Nice to have two different layouts IMO for the residents with different golf games.

Beautiful course set in the Valley of the Moon looking over the Macayma Mts. And the drive up is great going through the vineyards of Napa Valley.

Did not post any pictures as the ones on the site look just like the course today from John and others a few years ago.

The course was orignially known as Oakmont done by Ted Robinson Sr in 1964. The member said it has gone through various owners but is now stable and with a new greenskeeper and it shows.

The courses (there are 2) set within the 55+ community of Oakmont a few miles outside of Santa Rosa. Just minutes off Hwy 12 and across from St Francis winery.

Not an overly long course in comparison to some but water, OB, marsh areas and lots of trees can ruin your game real quick. B 6359 B/W 6204 W 6032 W/Y 5722 and Y 5528

Very nice combination of 3, 4 and par 5 holes winding through the development but the homes are not that close but I could imagine someone getting wild and hitting one.

A little damp for the first few holes so not much roll out in the fairways but they were lush and provided excellent lies all round.

Never an issue with a tee box.

Traps were all playable from what I saw and I did not find one today but my playing partner had a few but never heard a complaint as he played out just fine.

Greens are not overly large but they have undulations and elevation to them. And they were fast around 11 today after being mowed this morning. And they all looked in great condtion as well.

Great customer service in the shop. Did not partake of any food but they have a very nice restaurant on the property.

Nice driving range and good sized putting green to warm up on.

It is a very nice course with a great peacful feeling to it and I would recommend it for anyone if they are in the area.

Played here today. With all the courses doing their greens you have to call around (or use GK) to know their schedule. Eagle Vines is doing theirs Oct 5. So out we went.

Found the course in its usual great shape as is the case here.

Tee boxes all clean and playable.

Fairways are nice and wide and were rolling out providing good lies and they had good coverage.

In one bunker no issue with playing out and heard no bad comments on others who also had the pleasure.

Greens are big and undulating and it helps to have a little knowledge from past times playing here to know were to play to the pins. They chipped/putted well and held and also released shots all round.

Finally had time to enjoy lunch and beverage in The Eagle Grill. Great food selection and service. Great outdoor patio overlooking Napa valley and the course. Weather today was perfect for it.

I like playing here as it is like playing two different 9's. Back 9 belonged to the Chardonnay course next door when it was a 36 hole complex. Johnny Miller came in and designed a new front 9. And with no houses on the course only vineyards and views it is a really relaxing round of golf.
